The driver side mirror tilts down as well as the passenger side because there are one way streets, like in New York City, where you can park on the left curb as well as the right, so you need that mirror to pivot down to see the curb, unlike the more typical passenger side mirror for the more typical right curb parking. Whether it pivots enough to actually see the curb is another matter.

Hi, We drove both the 350 and the 460. We bought the 460 because we wanted the option of the Sport Mode. We really liked the BMW for handling in tight corners and acceleration. Buying the 460 we felt like we made a compromise. The 350 is a wonderful car, but there is noticable difference in acceleration and road feel between it and the 460 in Sport Mode. They are both great cars and I bet you'll be happy with either. Whatever you do, get the Mark Levison Sound System! :D Which BMW? I checked out the 535xi
