  1. I decided to try just disconnecting the battery and letting everything reset. Sure enough, that fixed the problem!
  2. It looks like the gauges and A/C control are all on the same circuit so if my A/C working it can't be the fuse. I see lots of tutorials about removing the gauge cluster on early LS models. Does anyone have a guide out there on how to do this for later models? If I did get it out how hard would it be to repair if it is the power inverter? Just in case it is something to be to handle on my own does anyone know of a good electronics shop in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that could handle something like this. I'd rather take it somewhere that specializes in this kind of thing rather than the dealership. Thanks for the help.
  3. Nope, just went up and tightened the battery cable. Car started right up but I didn't have gauges. Just read that post and that definitely sounds like the exact problem I have. Anything else easy that I should try before taking it to the shop?
  4. Yep, I've tried rotating the switch. I get nothing no matter what position the dimmer switch is in. It's weird because everything else is working just fine.
  5. Hello, I have a 2000 LS400 and all my gauges are dead. Radio, heat and air conditioning all work fine. One of my battery cables had come loose and after I went and tightened it down the car started fine but the gauges wouldn't light up. I'm worried I may have blown something. I read that was a somewhat common issue but I thought it was only on early LS models. Is there a fuse just associated with the gauges? It didn't appear so from looking in the owners manual. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Prior to the gauges dying they were bright and working just fine. I didn't notice any dimming or other behavior to indicate they were about to fail.
  6. I was able to get one at Sewell Lexus in Dallas. The cost was $8.81 and the part number is 33554-50020.
  7. Thanks, I'm in the DFW area so I might just stop by there and see if they've got one. It would be worth a few bucks to get rid of that hole.
  8. Does anyone have any idea what the part number is for the shift interlock cover on a '00 LS400? It's the one piece of my interior that isn't perfect and that little hole bothering me. Are there any good places online to buy Lexus parts like this or is this something that is so small that I'll probably need to go to a dealer to get it? Thanks.
  9. Good point, I'd rather not go through the pain of trying to hunt one down anyway. This is one of those stupid little parts that will probably be a real pain to locate.
  10. Thanks for the info. That would make sense. The pictures I've seen it just looks like a little slot. Any ideas where I could get one? It sounds like this might be something I'd need to go to a junkyard for. It's no big deal I just don't like having a perfect interior except for this. Anyone on here parting out a 98-00 LS400?
  11. Hello, I just purchased a 2000 LS400 and it appears to be missing a little button of some sort on the trim surrounding the shifter. It's the button that is to the upper left of the actual shifter gate. I've looked and some pictures on the internet to see if I could figure out what is supposed to be there but I can't make out what it is. Right now I just have a little hole there. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks --Steven
