  1. Was driving to my brother's house over the weekend and a tree limb flew into traffic, I subsequently nailed it on my passenger lights. I need to replace the passenger headlights and corner light. Does anyone know of a source of these lights? Can I drive it (in dry weather) for a while until I locate the lights? Thanks -David
  2. pretty sure you have to bypass the factory amp if the HU is aftermarket. ← So you think I should just take out the amp and get a new one? ← well from what i understand, the amplifier in the HU shoudl be enough for your stock speakers...but if you have aftermarket speakers and are looking for that extra "kick" then yes, amp them with an aftermarket amplifire. that factory amp has some kind of device on it that makes it so that it cant be used with anything except Lexus Factory Head units im pretty sure. it may even be a modulation or some kind of signal that the Lexus HU sends to the amp. obviously with an aftermarket HU, that signal is not present. i could be entirely wrong about this, but heres a quick way to find out. by come color matching wire that matches the wiring harness colors running into and out of the amp. cut the harnesses (if this doesnt work, they can be re spliced later) at either end of the amplifier. splice the wires together. this will bypass the amplifier. if your HU puts sound through the speakers when the amp is bypassed, then the issue was witht he amp. they make electrical connectors that will splice the wires back together in the event that it isnt the issue, but i think that it is. i am weary to cut the wires too my friend. LOL. i am also weary to put my HU in my car because my dash speakers in my ES250 are an odd size (something liek 3.8") and if i blow them, i wont be able to replace them with aftermarket ones...they just dont make them in that size LOL. so i would pretty much have to rewire and re speaker the entire car. ← Thanks Army!
  3. I installed a Kenwood 7015+Nav and it doesn't work really well with my amp, acutally it doesnt work at all. Any suggestions?

  5. Hi All, I just installed the Kenwood Double din 7015, with Sirius and the Nav in the LX470 but the amp is not working with the system. I have a Mark Levinson factory headunit and speakers. Does anyone know why this is the case? Thanks in Advance. David

  7. does anyone have this or have heard anything about it? if you have it in an lx that will be great if you would let me know. thanks in advance!
  8. GRD, I took mine in, and the dealer replaced it under warranty. Apparently, this happens quite a bit. Contact Lexus USA directly to see what they could do. If that doesn't help, there are some mirrors on Ebay right now. Search under "LX470" Good luck
  9. I'm definately game for a West Coast Meet. I'm in the OC
  10. The only complaint, thus far that I have with Lexus of Westminster is their crappy car wash. Other than that, they are great and have some really good looking women there :P
  11. How much does it cost you to fill up at the gas station? And how many miles do you get? It takes over $60 to feed my bad boy and it lasts a tad under 300 miles OUCH!
  12. Well the dealer is going to replace the speakers for me under warranty and also will replace my driver's mirror. It appears that the mirrors in the 00 and 01 have had problems in the past.
  13. I'll let you know when after I take it to the dealership on Monday Robert.
  14. Well, bringing the LX back in on Monday. Will keep you posted
  15. does anyone knows if the speakers are still under warranty?
  16. Well, I think I blew my rear subwoofer on my LX. I don't know how I did it, I mainly listen to talk radio, occasionally Classical, and very rarely some 80's pop. I don't know what happened but I heard the ubiqitous rattling noise when the paper speakers blow. I don't know if the Mark Levinson speaker are more durable then most, but I most say I am dissapointed if in fact they did blow. I had a 97 GS300 that never had problems with the speakers or anything else for that fact. Has anyone experienced these problems, if so were they covered by warranty? Thank you in advance!
  17. Hi, I took my 01 LX470 into Lexus of Westminster to have a diagnostic done and see if they could fix the problem with my driver's side mirror; this is what they told me. The driver's side mirror does not go as far down as the right side mirror and when it comes up to its original position, it doesnt go back to the memory setting:cries: . Is this normal? Thank you in advance
  18. I was wondering why does the antenna go up only about 4 inches when I'm using the CD player. Shouldnt it just go down all the way since the CD doesnt need to have the antenna up.
  19. silvermate, thanks for the info. love the work that youve done to the ls. Its such a classic
  20. Hi All, I just got my first SUV, fortunately I got an LX470. The car came to me with some minor scratches and touchups. I'm not worried about that though. The paint though, looks malnourished though. Therefore, I'm devoting a day (playing hookie from work) to just detail the car. What are the procedures I should follow and what product? I.e. clay, then polish, then wax, then seal, then.... I'm limited to my hands and arms...please advise on the products. Also, I would like to condition my leather too. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!
  21. Does anyone know if I can replace the fog lights with the Sylvania H1s? Thanks
  22. One more question, can you use these bulbs on the fog lights too?
  23. Hey Robert, Are these the bulbs you are talking about? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW And did you have to take your whole light assembly out to replace the bulb? Thanks man!
  24. 1990LS400, Thanks a million. I'll try that. It seems easy enough, I hope
