  1. I suggested to boot 400h people away a few months ago, got banned for two weeks. :cries: Is this in USA? Where are 400h people now?
  2. I was confused about the floowing: transfer case, front differential, real differential. Went to the Lexus dealer. They cahnged/flushed the front differential fluid (=transfer case) and the rear differential fluid for $49.50 each. Not bad at all.
  3. Hi, I have emailed Lexus at "Customer_Satisfaction_Inquiries@lexus.com" to complain about the resonant vibration noise. Please send your emails also, so we can be heard. Thank you.
  4. I am afraid that you are dreaming. Any new car will lose 10% or more of the its value as soon as it leave the dealer lot. For hybrid, it loses more, bcs the the used car buyer will not have the one time tax benefit.
  5. KevinK, when this resonant vibration occurred, I was able to gently punch (not too hard!!!) the headliner just above my head. The punch would disrupt the vibration cadence (i.e. pattern) and this is how I confirmed that the noise was coming from the headliner. ← Thank you very much. But it did not work for me. I could not locate the resonant part. Maybe the engine mount is no isolated well, which can cause vibrtion. K
  6. I am not sure that it worths the extra $8000.
  7. I got the same problem for the past month or so. At idle (around 700-800rpm), the car (2002 RX 300 with 42k) makes a droan noise and rumble. Give it a little gas, the noise is gone (around 900 -1000rpm). If I turns the wheel around (power steering applied), the noise is also gone. The noise is loud and hurts ear drump. Went to the dealer, the "adviser" said he could not hear a thing (wondering what kind car he is driveing). Called a senior tech. The tech said he had herad worse noise and it is the low idle and engine mount. They checked the pipes and engine mount, could not find any problem, except the noise. So I am stuck now. Maybe we should contact Lexus HQ.? Any idea? Thanks. :chairshot:
  8. #19 out of 22?? Why would you still choose the Cross Terrains? Are consumer reports wrong? Thx. :o
  9. Has anyone tried the pep boys Futura Adventure? It costs less than half than Mich. I used Futura on my cadillac and they are fine tires. The original Mich worked great also and lasted about 80K. I am shopping for 4 tires for 2002 RX300 with 40K.
  10. Agreed. But how to change differential fluid?
  11. 16 qts!? Are you sure? The old fluid in my car is black and a little thick. 4 qts of new fluid is not enough then. I don't want to flush it (bcs I heard bad news on flushing). I may need to drain it in a few days again. Right?
  12. Thanks a lot, guys. I just changed my 2002 rx300 awd (with 35k) atf. The old atf was dark black and a little thick. Very glad that I changed it. It drained out about 4.1 qt in cold. I only have 4 qts. The level is just above the cold mark when engine is idling. Do I need to add 0.1 qt?
  13. Steviej, thank you very much, but are those part # Toyota or Lexus? The are different from Allen's.
  14. Hi, Allen, Would you please post the right Toyota parts # for 2002 RX300? I may need the pads soon. Thanks. :D
  15. The 30k service of $600 at dealer sounds right. The 35k service should cost about $100. It only includes oil change, tire rotation.
  16. Thank you. But, this service is listed in the maintainence schedule. I am concerned that not doing this job may cause problem or void warranty.
  17. It is cheap! Last time I went to Lexus dealer for an oil change and they charged me $190.00 (they also rotated the tires and retorqued the bolts).
  18. Hi, tds, could you please tell me where to get the gasket? Thanks.
  19. Good point, skperformance. People don't use their parking brake anymore, instead they use their transmission for parking. My Cadillac has automatic parking brake release, so I use it every time. I wish Lexus has that function.
  20. Hi, Lexus recommends to retorque drive shaft flange bolts every 15k or so. Can someone please describe the procedure? I am sure many others will appreciate this also. Thanks very much.
  21. No, the engine and tranny are built for tough driving. If you baby your car and drive like a grandmom, you will get carbon built up, which is bad for the engine. :chairshot:
