the same thing happened to me. Took it to the dealer and watched him fix it in a minute. Unscrew the (tension member) cylinder from the door. Now, with the glove box door hanging down, pull it up and out. The bottom hinge should release easily. Now that you can get in there easily, there is a post that looks like an arrow on the top right hand side of the glove box area. I am not good at the name of this post but I can tell you that the big hole end of the cylinder will fit onto it with a little push. The cylinder should lock in place so that it does not pull off.
Reinstall the glove box door, put in in place so that it closes and opens, and lastly attach the cylinder to the glove box door. Hope this helps.
