I am in the San Francisco bay area and was told by my Lexus dealer that I might not get my replacement dash until next year due to parts problems. Is anyone else having problems getting their dashboards replaced or are they dragging this recall out.

Nice new dash!! I have an 07 IS250 and my dash is on order from last week. Was told that it could take 4 to 6 months to get it in from Japan.

I had the same problem hard brake pedal and no start with my 07 IS250. Had the car jumped and it started right up. Took it to the dealer and they couldn't find any trouble codes and had no idea why this happened. The ABS and VSC lights were on and the dealer cleared them. Hopefully someone will find out what is going on.

I have a 2007 is250 that I bought new and now has about 68k on it. Took it on my cross country trip last summer and was very pleased with the gas mileage(33mpg) for the trip. The ride quality and handling were very comfortable and would not hesitate in recommending this model to anyone that is thinking about getting one. I am in California also and we put about 3500 miles on the trip. Servicing at the Lexus dealer is a bit pricey but they give you a loaner, wash the car and fill up the tank. Good luck in your search.

The route we took around the US was I80 east where once we left California the speed limit was 70mph to 75mph depending on the state. On the way back home we took Route 66 where the limit was 65 in places, slower in others. Highway I40 across the southwest was either 70 or 75 depending on the state. The traffic flow was always 5 to 10 mph above the posted limit. One thing is that California has the noisiest roads. The road noise was horrible. Most roads outside of Calif. were almost whisper quiet. If you ever get the chance to go to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway do it. We took the grounds tour which included a lap around the track in a small bus and you get out at start/finish where you can "kiss the bricks". One of the highlights of our trip.

I just returned from a month long cross country trip through the central and southwestern US in my 2007 IS250. I was very pleased with the comfort and gas mileage. Overall for the round trip I got 33mpg. This was in an average of 97 deg weather and the air conditioning on all the time not to mention the 114 deg in Las Vegas. Some of the states I was in used 10% ethanol in the gas and I did notice a slight decrease in mpg. The fuel rails were fixed a couple of years ago on a TSB for ethanol. At times the engine could have used a little more horsepower but overall the 206hp was adequate. The highways in the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles were as straight as an arrow with 75 miles per hour speed limits where everyone was averaging 85. The car just hummed along for hours on end at that speed in the hot conditions. The navigation worked fine throughout the trip with no problems even when I missed a turn. The nav would reroute me back around to my destination. I bought my 250 new with this trip in mind and was not disappointed.

Time for me to post an update on my Yokohama Envigor tires. I now have almost 5000 miles on the tires and they seem to be getting better as the mileage accumulates. They are quieter now that they are scrubbed in and project minimal road noise into the interior. I have bluetooth and with the old Bridgestone tires there was a lot of background noise but now when my wife calls me when she is on the freeway it is almost dead quiet in the background. The wet weather traction is very good with all the rain we have had here in California to test them in. I have noticed that the tires have quite a bit of traction in the rain and this is especially noticeable when driving through standing water. So far I am very happy with these Yokohama tires over the stock Bridgestone Potenzas. These are like night and day. The ride quality is far better also not as harsh but a smoother feel to them. Steering response is about the same as the Bridgestones. Bottom line for me is that I am very satisfied with the choice I made.

I am a 6 footer and never had back problems until I got older. The IS seats are comfortable for me for a while then I need the back cushion for support. I also have a 1983 Toyota Celica GTS with the sport seats with all kinds of adjustments on them and they are so comfortable but again I now need my back cushion for the longer drives. I don't care what other say about having a cushion to me being comfortable means safety. If you are sore you might not be able to react quickly in an emergency.

I agree with Clay1. Get yourself a back cushion. My back gets sore in my is250 and I pop my cushion in behind me and off I go, no more back pain. My suggestion is to try a couple of different styles in the store to find one that fits you the best.

Thanks bigo for the response. I am hoping that they will work out to. I really hated those Bridgestones that came with the car as original equipment.

Had my new Yokohama Envigor tires installed on Saturday and have already noticed a big difference in noise reduction. Just driving around town the noise is about half of what the Bridgestone Potenzas were generating. When I get a few more miles on them and have some freeway miles on them I will update on the ride and noise. At least for now I can tell that they are a lot smoother around town. The tire sizes are front 225/40/18 and the rear are the 255/40/18s.

I need to get new tires for my 2007 IS250 and was thinking about the Yokohama Envigor. Does anyone have any experience with these tires. I read some of the reviews about other brands here and none of them mentioned the Yokohamas. The reason I was considering these is I don't need all the sportiness of the dreaded Bridgestone Potnezas and all the noise that they generate. I want a quieter tire that has some performance to it. These are cheaper than the Bridgestones and have a 45,000 mile warranty which I will probably never make it to with the IS250 but was told that if they wear out before then that I will get them prorated on the purchase of a new set of tires when the time comes. Any info that can be provided by the members here will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks IS_Willie!!! Yes I knew they were going to put gas in the tank but the wife filled up a couple of days before. I want to put a good word in for my Lexus Dealer, Lexus Stevens Creek in Santa Clara California. Every time I have been there they have treated my very well from the time I went in to look at the IS250 that I ended up buying through to the service department. I admit that it is a tad expensive to have the car serviced there however the customer service is outstanding. I never got that kind of treatment when I bought any American car. Maybe because it is a Penske dealership and they work to higher standards. I really do like "my wife's" IS250 when I can get it away from her as it is her daily driver.

OK I am back from the dealer for my recall fix. What the fix entailed on my 07 IS250 was to replace the pedal pad with a shorter pad so it won't catch on the floor mat when the peddle is pushed all the way to the floor. Also they did the brake reprogramming so if the car accelerates and you step on the brakes to slow the car the programming disconnects the fly by wire on the gas peddle. This will not turn the engine off but leaves you with power to operate the brakes. Sounds like a simple fix to me but I am not a mechanic or programmer. Just a side note on the loaner car, I was given a 2010 IS250. The car is basically the same as mine except it had the sport suspension, new upgraded nav system and Bridgestone Tourag tires. To me the ride was just a tad bit firmer than stock, I like the look of my nav verses the updated version and the tires were way quieter than the potenzas that are on my 250. They also topped up my gas tank. That's the best information I can give here and it was because of the post by remat457 and the response by IS_Willie that I knew what questions to ask. Thanks to both of them and I hope this makes sense to everyone concerned.

I put up a post on this subject back on April 26 under the heading of "floor mat recall". I will be taking my 07 IS250 into the dealer tomorrow for the pedal pad, accelerator/brake and floor mat fix. I will ask about the accelerator and brake reprogramming and post a response under my post for the floor mat recall when I get my car back. As a side note the dealer is giving me a loaner while the work is being done. Glad I saw this post before I go in tomorrow.

Wanted to post that I just received a safety recall notice on my Lexus 07 IS250. This is for the floor mat problem. I live in Santa Clara, Calif. and will report back after I get my appointment and fix installed. I may have to wait until next week to report back as I am on call for jury duty this week and you know how important it is to do our civic duty. Hopefully I won't get picked. The notice states that my Lexus dealer will replace the accelerator pedal foot pad with a newly designed one. Also the recall states that they will also install a newly designed brake override system.

How about road noise coming into the car with the Sumitomos? I have the garbage Bridgestones on my is250 and they are horrible with road noise. Does anyone have a recommendation for a quiet good handling tire?

We don't need term limits to stop these idiotic polititians. Just don't vote for any incumbent. One term and "yer out". That goes for the parties also. One time it the dems the next it's the republicans. If the elected want to step on us we have the Constitution to back us up to take back our country and our government. These polititians need to realize they work for us. Sorry about the rant!

Not that it matters much but I always brake with my left foot in a vehicle with an automatic trans. Stick shift I brake with my right foot. I suppose it has something to do with being left handed. The left foot braking just comes natural to me for some reason with an automatic. I suppose being left footed keeps my foot away from the gas and I have slipped a few times especially when having wet shoes getting into the car when it's been raining.

I finally got my 07 is250 into the dealer yesterday for my 3 recall notices. My car required all 3 fixes. New fuel rails, fixed the rear brake boots and had a new steering rack installed along with a front alignment due to the install of the rack. Plus they filled up the tank with gas. The service write up for the rear brakes is for "excessive brake dust, replace rear brake dust boots both sides". Never had a problem with dust on the rear wheels but they said that dirt could get into the brake boots? Anyway with all that said and done the dealer cost was almost $2600 and they threw in a loaner car for the day. Glad it's not me having to pay for this. My is250 has been pretty solid up till now except for the front brake dust problem that was fixed and the front tires wearing on the inside edges that have been talked about in these forums before. I do want to commend my dealer for all the fine customer service they have provided me these past few years. I live in Santa Clara, California and the dealer is Stevens Creek Lexus. This is the first Lexus I have owned and the customer service from this dealer is way above any other dealer I have delt with over the years.

Kentucky, can you tell what the dealer told you and what was involved in completing the 3 recalls? That's good that you were in and out the same day.

Check with your dealer ABOUT the recall notices for the electric steering.

All this jabber jawing over an alignment problem? I have an 07 is250. I did read the owners manual when I bought the car and saw the note on low tire mileage which I was ok with. My complaint is about the lack of alignment adjustability. The front camber can be adjusted only so much and that is it. It is set that way for handling. My front tires were not cupping but wearing on the inside edges which caused me to replace them. Yes I had 18,000 miles on them but the rest of the tire had many more good miles in them. I think that lexus should fix that part of the car. Just my 2 cents as I really like the car and have had no other problems except for the brake dust issue that my dealer took care of.

The notice for the fuel rail is for IS250/350 2006 thru 2008. The notice for the slide pin says it is for "certain" Lexus IS, does not specify any year or model. The notice for the electric power steering link is for "certain" Lexus IS 2006 and 2007, does not specify which IS models.
