I just bought a 2001 RX300 (without NAV) and was told that we could add OEM nav later. It appears that I can't, based on Lexus' response. So, I found a Pioneer stereo w/Nav @ Best Buy...really good deal ($700) and have been searching online to find out if this can be done.

Can anyone tell me if they've heard of these being installed? What are the pros/cons? Am I losing functionalities that might come in handy?
Portable Nav is not an option (wife's preference).
