I am actually going to be doing the same thing in my 99es. I ordered the unit on Friday, and it will be here later this week. As stated Metra and Scoche both have "face plates" for single and Double Din. You will also need to order your wiring harness if you are keeping the stock equipment, I would also suggest picking up a couple ground loop isolators to get rid of any whine if you use the factory amp. Those lights being on at the same time do not indicated that those features are turned off, usually if they are both on at the same time it indicates a problem.

I am actually having the same problem, I believe mine was caused when I was getting bad misfires last week, think it may have done something to my catalytic converter. *EDIT* Alright, found out what my issue was. When I was checking out my air filter I disconnected one of the hoses on my filter enclosure, so if you may want to check out all of you connections.

Check to make sure that the bypass switch in the glove compartment is in the active position. :) That was my first guess... found out what that button was for today, lol.
