Hello, Robert. My guess is that replacing the spare would be less expensive than having all the wheel studs replaced. You may want to compare the cost of each option. -

I've never heard of coil springs wearing out, although I suppose that in an area where streets are salted during snowstorms, springs could be weakened by rust. If your car has been used in CA where snow is rare or non-existent, then the springs should be fine. Has your mechanic inspected them?

Another possible option is a Toyota dealership. I have saved hundreds of dollars by having them service our hybrid which has an identical powertrain as the Toyota highlander of the same era.

Hello, Parker. Have you searched for a relevant youtube video. You can also be able to find the section of Factory Service Manual. This is what I do in order to determine if the task is something I can complete in a decent amount of time.

You may want to stop by a local detailer and ask if they can inspect your car. They should be able to confirm whether or not it had been treated.
