  1. Yes the other functions on the steering wheel work and the radio has never been worked on......where is the clock spring located? in the steering column? *ALSO another problem I forgot to mention is my mileage reading stopped working? what needs to be replaced to get that going, it stopped at 98,xxx miles?*
  2. I tried to email you but it came back as invalid email.....i have billydpowell@verizon.net

  4. Hello Club Owners!! Newbie here, be easy! First off I want to thank everybody on this forum with the help you guys provide, if it wasn't for this forum I would be lost in trying to restore my baby. That being said I have a couple of problems with my car I need some feedback on. 1. My cruise control doesn't work when I engage it. Ive done some research on it and came to the conclusion that Speed Sensor on the Tranny needs to be replaced (please correct me if im wrong). Has anyone attempted this repair themselves? if so how difficult is it? 2. My keyless remote system does not work. I have yet to change out the battery in the key, and I barely found a method to programming the key yourself, but if for some reason it still does not work after trying to program it, is there some type of module/switch that gets replaced? 3. I would like to upgrade my interior seats with perhaps a newer year, can this be done? Thanks!
  5. It may be aftermarket, but it looks like a wheel from an older model Mercedes with a lexus center cap
  6. It could also be your lower and maybe the uppper ball joints. My car has this problem and I thought it just needed struts but when I changed them out the problem was still there so my mechanic told me my ball joints are bad. In order to get the upper ball joint you'll have to replace the whole upper control arm as the two pieces are not sold separately which can be pricey!
  7. Please repost whatever your solution may be as I too am having the exact same problem. Thanks a bunch!
  8. Ive been having this ideling problem with my 90 Lex LS400. I started having the tale signs of needing a tune-up, so I replaced spark plugs & wires, new air filter, new fuel filter, dist caps & rotors, the whole works. Since then yes, the has gotten its powr back and all seemed ok. Now I still have this sputtering, mostly during a complete stop, car sputters, slightly vibrates like I just put in badass edelbrock cam lol. When I drive at times when I press down on the accel. the car hesitates giving it a little kick feel to it. I double checked all my work and everything is accordingly, MAF seems to be in good condition, and the airflow box above the valve cover passenger side(sorry dont know name of part) has been replaced, and ive recently put some Fuel Injector treatment. So aif/fuel delivery seems to be ok. Anything else I can check for? any help would be greatly appreciated! Chris
  9. Thank you so much, im having the same problem as IS400 and was also looking for a way to take the crankshaft pulley bolt off
  10. Any idea of what the name is to this tool?
  11. I called a dealer and a tech told me I can stick a screwdriver in the gear of the flywheel and use an impact gun, has anyone tried this before?
  12. Hey guys, new member here so please be patient with me! Im replacing my timing belt/water pump on my 90 Lexus LS400, im currently stuck where I have to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt. Any suggestions how this can be done without the crankshaft pulley moving freely? The tutorial I seen here posted, they listed to wedge a impact wrench to ground and crank the motor, Im looking for an alternative suggestion on how to remove the bolt instead of going this route Any help is appreciated and Thanks in advance!
