  1. On the first Sunday of each month there is an Auto Show. It used to be at the Avenue in East Cobb, Marietta, Georgia, but it's been moved to 7730 North Point Parkway where Mansell Road intersects with North Point Parkway.

There were hundreds of cars on display at the last show. Cars begin to arrive at 8 a.m. and by 9 a.m. the parking lot is nearly full. The show starts to break up around 11:30 a.m.

This would be a great opportunity for SC430 owners to meet each other and perhaps agree on future monthly meetings.

If you're interested please let me know by emailing me at arthur@alwaters.com. I live in East Cobb and work in Roswell.

Plan on arriving no later than 8:30 so we can keep our SCs together.

Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

There have been hundreds of cars at the last couple of shows and this is an ideal opportunity for SC owners to meet and display our SCs. The cars start gathering early so we need to be there by 8:00 a.m. or so to be certain that we can reserve space in order to keep our SCs together. The show starts to break up by 11:30.

If you plan to come, please let me know via email to arthur@alwaters.com; Try to make it!

    Thanks

  4. It's been about six months since I acquired my 06' SC. Whether I am at a light or in a parking lot, I find that other SC owners share my enthusiasm for the car.

I live in Cobb County, (East Cobb to be exact) Georgia. I have noticed that there are many SCs with Cobb tags and I thought it would be fun to gather from time to time to share and discuss.

The Avenue in East Cobb frequently has car shows on Saturday and Sunday morning; a great place to meet.

If you have any interest or any comments please let me hear from you.

I'm interested - just moved here from the northeast. See many SC430s around here. I'm an amethyst twilight with ecru and probably one of the few with out of state tags.

We are trying to setup a meet at "The Avenue" in East Cobb on Sunday, November 6 at 8:30 am; Can you make it?

  6. With any luck, I'll be the proud owner of a 2005 within a week. If that comes through, I'll have to drive over from Roswell (I know, all five miles) and I'll be there!

Little Update. No luck involved now. Got my baby. Where and when?

  10. Hi,

Looking for exhaust what do you think about this:

    http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=2621

I just ordered a blitz intake, so I wanted to pair :D

Maybe there is something better at this price.

    Thx

    Jack

Hello Jack; I've got a 06 also. I have not yet done any performance mods yet. Looking for something I can do that is not very expensive but will still give me bang for the buck. What have you done? How did that Blitz intake affect performance?

  11. Hi, New member here... Does anyone know where to find a badgless grill for my 04 SC430?

I've been seaching the net with no luck... :cries:

    Thanks.

Good news and bad news. I started the debadge process by removing the 'Lexus' and the 'SC430' from the truck, no problem. The 'L" on the trunk is another sotry; I'm waiting for my front grill to arrive before I take the SC to the body shop to have the 'L' removed and the two holes filled and the lid painted. Like you, I searched the web with no luck for a front grill until I found Blitz (http://www.blitzpowerusa.com/products/aero/aero.html). The good news is that they will make a grill for your SC (about 8 weeks wait) and the bad news is that it costs almost $800.00. At any rate, after a visit to the body shop for the truck and a visit to the bank for the front grill, I'll be badgeless. Next comes tires. How about you?

  12. Hello all-

Happy new owner of an SC430.

I've seen reference to a few things of interest but haven't managed to find them available for sale.

    1) rear seat 'cover'- saw a reference to JDM as the maker, haven't been able to locate this. Any ideas?

    2) LuxLink- recent posts talking about a possible 'group sale'- I'm in if it happens, also saw one for sale recently used/uninstalled. Anybody have a pointer to one? I emailed Steve Larkin at luxmotorworks to confirm my interest in a group sale.

    3) simplest / cleanest bluetooth phone hookup that integrates with the Levinson stereo- recommendations?

    4) general accessories / parts for the SC430- any preferred online shops?

    Thanks for any guidance.

It appears that you never received a reply. The LuxLink works great but I never heard of the back seat cover; Did you ever learn anything more about it?

My current task is removing the "L" from the front and back but it is a bit more involved than first meets the eye.

  13. Hi all,

It being the Lexus SC430 is so well controlled by electronics, including the engine disabler, which if any remote start can be added to the car? Lexus wants between $750 and $800 to put one in. There must be a better way, but I don't want to ruin anything in this sophisticated system.

I purchasd Lex Link. Using my key, I can remote start the car AND remotely drop and raise the top. I am extremely pleased with the results. Feel free to contact me for details. arthur@alwaters.com

  14. HI, AM ALSO NEW HERE AND A NEW OWNER OF '06 SC 430. IT HAD BEEN A LEASE CAR IN MA AND HAD THE PROPER SERVICING BY A DEALER. HOWEVER, IT CAME WITH 225/55R/16 SNOW TIRES. THE RIDE OBVIOUSLY IS NOT GREAT AND AS I LIVE IN MD I DO NOT NEED THESE TIRES. SHOULD I GET THE DEALER-RECOMMENDED 245/40ZR18S? THIS WILL MEAN ALL NEW TIRES AND RIMS, RIGHT? OR CAN I MOVE TO A MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 16"? WHAT WILL THE DIFFERENCE BE IN HANDLING, RIDE, ETC? AND, HOW DO THE 16S AFFECT THE SPEEDOMETER ACCURACY AND TIRE PRESSURE MONITORS? SHOULD I HAVE A DEALER MOUNT THE NEW TIRES? MANY THANKS FOR REPLIES

Good afternnon and congrats on your newly acquired SC; Mine is also an '06. I have the stock tire and like most owners realize the ride is less than ideal. I believe you will find the Mich Pilot is the most recommended tire but please research this to be certain. After you have used them a while, pelase let me have your feedback. You can use arthur@alwaters.com if you like.

    Good luck!

  15. I am shopping for 03-06 model used sc430.

Wondering if the transmission and other upgrades to the 2006 model make any practical improvement to overall performance/value of the car. Better gas mileage??

    All observations welcome.

    Thanks,

    Bob

I've owned by 06 SC for about 8 months. I am extremely pleased. Though I have no experience with prior models, i can tell you that my mileage in the city is 18.8. Hope that helps. Good luck with yoru search. By the way, after purchase I installed a Remote Top Opener that is lots of fun to use. I have details when you're ready.

    Good Luck

  16. Hi guys! Took delivery of my new (to me anyway) 2005 SC430 with just 18K miles.

No, I'm not going to ask a bunch of dumb questions. I've been hanging out here long enough to know you've heard them all by now.

I'll just ask this, I have no owners manual. Where can I find out how to set my Driver's position memory seats, how to change my home location in my nav, all the stuff you want to do with a new car? I've searched the forum, but most posts have to do with problems or wanting to do things a different way. I just want to know how to do the basics. I've signed on to the Lexus site and seen the partial owner's manuals, but they don't answer my questions. Where can I go to find detailed instructions on the operation of all the gizmos?

    Thanks

Congrats on your SC; My office is in Roswell at Mansell and Alpharetta Highway; Contact me to arrange to come by and review owner's manual.
