  1. i just had my 92 sc painted for a 3100 bucks, that 250 dollar crap is worthless, its all in the prep work, look for someone who takes the entire car apart to paint it, thats the only way to prevent peeling and insuring a quality job, maaco and other discount painters only tape the windows and trim etc.... stay away from the tape!, if you are doing a respray youre looking at 2500 to 4000 dollars depending where you go, if you are doing a color change or a custom paint job expect to spend a little more. i had mine done at art moehn chevrolet (dont hate me) they did a fantastic job, my friends referred them, and i couldnt be happier with the paint job, exact match, lookin brand new again, if you have any dents or rust than thats gonna cost you more too, look to spend at least 3,000 bucks, remember you get what you pay for. also have you checked with your local lexus dealer? they could be some help.
  2. i agree with all of you, excellent deal on the car, looks brand new, if you can get any papers on the car regarding any work that had been done and the services that would be a good plus. id definitely get the inspection its well worth the 100 bucks, i had an inspection done on mine and found out everything was in tip top shape and no work was needed as far as they could tell, but still had brakes and all fluids changed from brakes to the tranny, id do the same if i were you. it even looks like the detailed the engine! either youre gettin a great dell or looks can be decieving, find out as much as you can before you buy, and hopefully a nice test drive in scheduled make sure everything works and drive with the radio off. welcome to the lexus family!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I agree, if the car isnt pulling to the left or right and keeps a straght line the your tires arent balanced correctly,if it is pulling to either side then it could be your alignment or your alignment and balance are both off.
  4. I just bought a 92 sc400 myself about 3 weeks ago it has had 2 owners and has 118,000 miles on it, has been well cared for and has all the paperwork on all the work that has been done on it, which is the main reason i bought the car, i wanted to know im getting a good car that was cared for,165K isnt that much mileage but it does strike me as odd you would need a rebuild at 165K, so in my theory the car had to be abused at some point to need a rebuild, since you would be commuting along ways, Personally i would pass on this deal and do some shopping around and try to salvage that grand am a little while longer, i know its not what you want, but it doesnt sound like you want that SC either, just my opinion,
  5. I have been shopping around for a new cd player and a sirius radio, id like to have them both in my console and it needs to be customized, currently i have the stock double din and a half am/fm cd cassette player, I would like a quality job of course, anyone have the stereo kit customized and how much is a reasonable price for this procedure, tips and comments aprreciated, thank you
  6. I recently have had condensation in my headlights and it hasnt gone away for several days nows, it is killing my brightness of my bulbs since water reflects light, and im worried it might blow my bulbs, is there anyway to get rid of the problem without buying new, any help here is appreciated thanks.
  7. I'd have to agree there, a Hid conversion is definitely the best looking and dont be fooled by the HID scams out there, if it isnt a true conversion kit dont buy it due to the glare, personally i bought the halogen silverstars, found them just about anywhere, the improvement in color and brightness was well worth the 30 bucks i spent, the stock ones had to go, and i believe it was a good buy for a different look.
  8. I have a 92 sc400 and as you know they have turning lights, is there a website or someone that can help me do this conversion? a friend of mine had this procedure done many years ago on his 92 sc300 but cant help because had it professionally done, but how hard can it be? its just a rewire....right?
