Asking price: $22,000 2007 Lexus ES 350 Ultra Luxury 1-owner, clean carfax, good service records 70,000 miles. No CPO. Is this a fair price? How much can I go lower? KBB's seems to be worthless lately.

To be honest with you, the only thing I like about ULTRA Luxury is the panoramic roof (it makes the vehicle stand out especially with starfire pearl or golden almond exterior), I don't care much about Mark Levison or the 10 spoke wheels. I checked my local dealer and they said the have 09 ULTRA starfire pearl exterior in stock and golden almond being built, which kind of suprised me since I thought they are low in stock. Still even if I get to invoice of 40K, I still think it's a lot of an ES. I'm thinking of buying a used one, and this one I found: 2007 CPO ULTRA LUXURY, Golden Almond Exterior 60,000 miles Price Ask: $25,995 CPO: 3 years or 100,000 miles Was a private lease before Seems like a fair deal? Any room for negociation? I'm asking them to lower to $23,000. The other problem is it's 1,500 miles away for where I live, so I'm looking at paying for an additional of $1,000 for delivery. (unless I fly one way there and drive it back, which cost about $400 including air fair and gas, idk).

It is not possible to get a Panoramic Roof and Mark Levinson sound system w/o the UL trim. However, having 'said' that check for everything else, perforated leather seats, rear sun shade, navigation system, with back-up camera, wood trim steering wheel, HID/AFS, 10 spoke graphite wheels. If these check off then you indeed had the UL package. For an 08 this is great price for a UL package considering the miles. I'm still somewhat concerned that it's not Lexus certified, but you still have quite a bit of warranty left, so that's not a show stopper. Clean CarFax, wow, this car was hardly driven. Was it a loaner vehicle? I think $34K would be really good price, but hey, if you can get the price down lower, then go for it!!..... Ahh, they just sold it today (sale pending since Saturday). I never thought of getting the ULTRA package, but now after seeing it in person, I felt in love with it. If I get a brand new one, how much should I aim for MSPR 44K, Invoice 40K.

I got an offer for a used 2008 ES 350 Ultra Luxury Package (not CPO) with 5000 miles for $34,700 (MSRP $44,700). Is this a fair deal? Obviously, this is not a CPO, but the carfax is clean and I haven't negociate anything yet. How much should I negociate? Maybe $32 or $33K? Since buying a new car now has so many benefit such as you can deduct the tax on your 2009 income tax? Advise? *Note: I'm unsure if this is the Ultra Luxury Package since the salesman is not from a Lexus dealership so he might not knowledgable about ES' trims (he didn't mention anything about Ultra Luxury) . But the vehicle does include Mark Levison and Panoramic roof. Is it possible to get those two options without the Ultra?

That's like at MSRP, did you attempted to get any discount or it is impossible to do so now? AWD or FWD?

Just curious how much you new 2010 RX 350 owners got for your car with Premium Package? How much with the Navigation Package? Is it still possible to get to the invoice now with this new model? I'm seeing the 2010 model Navigation Package is only about 2K more than the Premium Package. Perhaps it's a better deal to upgrade to Nav than previous 09 models where it was about 4K different. Much appreciated.

I think it would be hard for you to find a GS w/o navigation. There are some out there, but like the LS, most of these vehicles are equipped with a navigation package. To answer your question about price, you need to provide more info (e.i. mileage, color)

I know Lexus doesn't required full synthetic oil for the RX line up, but do any of you actually use full synthetic oil here? If so, what benefit have you seen? Do you do it at home, bring the oil to the dealer, or have the dealer use their full synthetic oil?

Does anyone know when will the 2010 RX 450h be available in dealership? I want to test drive it when I drop off my 400h for maintenance :-). I visited the Lexus website, and I don't think we can build the 450h or 250h yet.

Thanks all for all the advice! I commute 20 miles a day round trip to work and put in about 70 miles over the weekend, no short trips, so I think that should be long enough for the oil to warm up? I certainly don't want to do anything to jeopardize my warranty, but again, Lexus dealership charged me $46.85 just for an oil change last time, so I was wondering if it's worth it to go back there and have the service done before the 5000 miles interval hits. So you are saying we can bring our Lexus to say a Toyota dealership and have the 5000 miles service done, as long as we keep the service record, that would still count towards the fulfillment for our warranty? As for the full synthetic oil, I know Lexus currently uses blended oil for RXs, do you think using full synthetic oil will extend the interval longer? I once talked to a service advisor and he told me that full synthetic oil doesn't mean longer interval oil change because the filter would still need to be changed every 6 months.

Do any of you here really follow Lexus' 6-month/5000 miles maintenance schedule? I was recently out of the country for vacation for 6 weeks, so I hadn't put too much mileage on my car yet. It's been 7 months now since I last had service, and I only put on 3500 miles since then. Do you think it's necessary to have the service now since it's over 6 months or I should wait until the car hit 5000-mile interval? Btw, I'm thinking of doing the 15K maintenance, does it worth it? Does it include oil change and tires rotation in this 15K maintenance as well? How much? Anyone with experience, please share. Thanks.

I thought they only thinking about it, it's not official yet. Plus, even if they are going with the plan, the V6 LS is going to be just in Asia Pacific, and maybe in Europe...but not North America.

I got an invitation to attend on Feb. 24th at my local Lexus dealer for 2010 RX arrival...they said it's gonna have some live music and refreshments...other than that...I have never attended a Lexus party before. And no, this is only for the 2010 RX350, the Hybrid 450h will be showcased around April.

I agree, the market has yet to go back up, oil demand drops, inventory increases, cruel is still at $42 a barrel, and gasoline had already creep up in the last few weeks in anticipate of the spring, unbelievable! I don't think we will see $4 (average) in 2009 *knock on woods*, but $3 is a definite and $4 again in 2010. Still, I'm so glad that all of us 400h owner having the distinction of owning a hybrid rarity. I always get a kick when I park my car next to a 350 and the owner got off his car and start staring at my car wondering what the 400h means (sorry, but a lot of people are not aware of hybrids, heck...some of them I know were just buying a base 350 just to say they owning a Lexus)

You're right, their '08 400h with 9K will probably sell between $36-37K...about $4-5K off asking price. But the reason why I got such an "ok" deal because I'm planning to buy an LS, so they probably thought they would get something back for the LS from me. Btw, I see that they still have ocean of RX350s on their lot, wonder why on the RX350 board, people get outrageous deals: 09' Pebble Peach with Nav for $35.5K. WOW

OK, I'm really envy with all of you who got these OUTRAGEOUS deals now :P . When I purchase my RX400h in November 2007, deals were nowhere near this. Are these deals only for the RX line up? Anyone has any luck with ES or LS with this steep discount?

Per your request, here is the update: Long story short, I've decided to keep my '08 RX400h for another year or two and sell it dirt cheap to my in-law (I think they wanted this vehicle but their nest egg got beaten badly so they hold off on purchasing a new car). Here is the story: I went to the dealer to get the appraisal, and they offered me $35,500 with 15K on it. I knew dealer trade-ins are usually a rip off, but this is about $2K below the trade-in value given by KBB. I walked away and checked out on auto-trader, unfortunately in my area only 2006 RX400h were sold, not a single '08 was sold by individual seller. So I call them back and ask for a trade-in of $38,500 (average between KBB trade in of $37,300 and private party of $39,500). They agreed to give me a price of $37.700 (which I think it's reasonable consider they have another '08 RX400h in stock with 9,000 miles on it and put it up for $40,900). A week later I came back for a test drive of the LS, and they retracted the offer, staying that Lexus is currently giving more cash incentive rebates for '08 models, and they reduced the offer to $35,650. After endless conversations, I walked away embracing my 400h knowing that I will have her for another year or two and not have to take a $10K hit on depreciation. By the way, anyone knows anybody or have they recently purchased a new or used 400h? How much did you pay for? I saw on the RX350 board, and some of them got deals as great as $36,000 for '09 RX350 with Nav. I guess the currently RX models got hit pretty hard knowing that the redesigned will coming out in a month. I didn't see this steep drop in the LS or the ES line up. Just the RX.

Wow, that was a great deal you got there, what was the invoice for your vehicle? I guess the bad economy + incoming redesigned RX models = deep discount. I hope you will keep your car for a long time because it's already dropped like a rock in value as we speak and even more in February where the new 2010 coming out. My RX400h has lot its value in almost 3K from late December 08 to now. ENJOY your new ride!

How do we register as owner on Lexus website? Aren't we automatic registered when we purchased the vehicle? I registered with my VIN and this is the error message I got, "Incoming VIN is not a valid TMS VIN. The VIN must be in CCDB. Please enter a valid TMS VIN We're sorry, your request cannot be completed at this time. Please try again later." Any idea?

Great info! Do you know what other states besides Colorado who is still during this tax credit? Btw, when reading this, it's still a little bit unclear on whether they allowed used vehicles or new vehicles only. Perhaps someone who live in CO can confirm this? "HEVs also qualify for this incentive. This credit is only available in the year during which the vehicle was purchased or converted, and a vehicle may only qualify for this credit one time"

RX400h, so you are saying colder temp helps reduce engine knocking, therefore, premium may not required? I'm currently still using premium, and I'm in MN, so it's super cold with temp around 15-25F this week. I can definitely use mid-grade as some gas stations here priced mid-grade and regular the same. I don't care much about the $.20 different between premium and regular, but if I can save additional pennies, why not? Can you tell me where you get this info from?

It will explain clearly for you. You will also be able to check on hybrid credit from other manufactures beside Toyota/Lexus. Based from what I read. The first 60,000 hybrids get 100% credit from the government. After that, only 50% will be given credit for the next 6 months, then only 25% (of the original 100%) will be given in month 7-12. And then no more. And YES. Only new vehicle can get credit. Not used one. Additional Requirements The following requirements must be met to claim the credit: * The original use of the vehicle commences with the taxpayer. * The vehicle is acquired for use or lease by the taxpayer, and not for resale. (The credit is only available to the original purchaser of a new, qualifying vehicle. If a qualifying vehicle is leased to a consumer, the leasing company may claim the credit.) * The vehicle is used mostly in the United States. * The vehicle must be placed in service by the taxpayer after December 31, 2005 and must be purchased on or before December 31, 2010. o Click here for more about the credit phase-out and ending date. o Click here for information on tax deductions for hybrids placed into service before January 1, 2006.
