  1. Lol, I don't think it is that extreme. Plus, why not? if it can make them more money. But like it was said earlier, its IS-250/350 parts, not IS-F conversions.
  2. There was a new guy there who I bought my car from (it was his first car sold). He was pretty knowledgeable about the car, although there were some technical questions I asked that he did not know, he got his manager who helped with the questions. Overall I knew what I wanted so he didn't have too much work to do haha. He showed me the car in a few different colors. And when I decided on the color that I wanted (I never thought pictures did colors justice) he showed me the actual car (IS-250 with luxury and X packages). The reason he didn't show me the car right away and let me pick the colors instead was due to the fact they literally just got off the truck (truck was still on the lot). 9 miles when purchased! was a nice number to see... They were very helpful throughout the process and I actually drove the IS-350 and 250 models, 350 was a lot faster but I wanted more interior comfort for a daily driver and I couldn't afford it with the 350. When we got into the details of payment they helped cut off some more money because I stayed with their new salesman (guess they thought I was doing it out of concern for him...oh well.. extra $$ for me). The new salesman seemed to be more interested in what I wanted rather than selling me the car, which I found refreshing. Just before going to Lexus I went to an Acura dealer to try out the Acura TL and I could not understand what the salesman was saying (really strong accent). That right there ended all chances of me buying one lol.
  3. Ive never actually seen a car rusted out. Thanks, I was just hearing things from friends who were seeming to make it a huge deal. Leuxs to New York it is! You guys made my day so much better Thanks again!
  4. Okay, well as the description says there is a high chance I am going to New York in the next few months (got accepted to Syracuse University) from Southern California (seen snow maybe 11 times). My question is not about snow tires, already read up on those in this forum :) . My question is about protecting my car. I hear that the salt on the roads eats away at a car's undercarriage and I was wondering if there was any way to prevent this, or slow the process. I got my IS almost a year ago and have really been trying to keep it in perfect condition. I want it to last me 200k miles, and right now it is at 7400. I really am hooked on this car and have a blast every time I drive it but I don't want it to get ruined. So is there anything I can do? Or am I exaggerating the problem? I could leave it at home (sad day that would be :( ) and just buy some old thing to get me around but I REALLY don't want to. Any help would be appreciated! I tried looking in the forums already but all I found was information on the snow setting and snow tires. Thank you!
  5. And I'll have you know that since my recirc is now working, I have more rattling in my dash.....I know, I'm just never happy.......... Doesn't that just drive your nuts. Such a beautiful car... and all we seem to do is drive back to the dealer every 3000 miles or so with a new tick, rattle or pop and hope that they don't think us nuts. I think it is a life lesson for me ...that nothing is perfect...still p-sses me off though. Solution: Turn the music up so loud you cant hear anything but the thumping in your ears! works for me! ;)
  6. I have had no problems with my IS (other than rattling which most likely came from my subs in the trunk). You have a right to be mad but I don't think that your problem is much of a widespread one (if it was I am sure the car would be recalled). Hopefully your car works better now. The car sure is fun when its steering isn't failing though, isn't it?
  7. My Lexus had 9 miles on it and it was still covered in dirt from the transport truck. So my guess is someone (or some people) took it for a test drive and then decided against getting it.
  8. Yay for first posts. 2007 IS-250 X-Package and Luxury Package I have had no issues with the car. I have bought 2 10" JBL W3 series subs, a set of 18" staggered axis gravity wheels, and an upper and lower chrome mesh grille. This car is very entertaining and I am glad that I can tell my car apart from all the others that I see now.
