  1. Don't waste your money, those speakers are useless and don't provide quality sound. Just replace the factory door speakers with some aftermarket ones.
  2. I just replaced all the anti-theft nuts on mine.. my wheels are pretty beat up so I doubt anyone wants them.
  3. I got really excited when it came on.. I was like "Thats my car!!" lol
  4. Right, that would definitely be easier. However, that would require selling my 96, which has 300+ thousand miles on it. No one wants to buy it. I'm glad to hear it's possible... would it be easier to go with an earlier model manual tranny from an Es or find one from a Camry? Is there some kind of write up on how to go about making the swap? Thanks for your help
  5. I had an interesting idea... is it possible to acquire a 5 speed transmission from an earlier year Es300 or possibly a 96 Toyota Camry and swap it out for the 4 speed auto transmission in the 96 Es300? I know it's a long shot but it seems like it would be a fun project and make the Lexus a little more fun to drive.
  6. My 96 Es300 does this, usually when going up hill if i let the rpm drop too low.. the whole car starts shaking... revving the motor makes the problem disappear.. anyone have an idea what's happening? the CEL is on and autozone told me it's a shift solenoid?
  7. How much gas is left when that light comes on? It's a 96 Es300..
  8. You have not heard many quality aftermarket systems have you? Are these speakers the type that have a small tweeter built into them?... if so, did it make the high's too much out of balance?... I need to replace my front door speakers, and have found that most of the aftermarket stuff has the 2 or 3 way setups. I really like the balance that the standard premium systems have and would hate to "mess that up" with a 2 or 3 way. Thoughts anyone? I have Polk 2-way co-axial speakers in my door, and a JL sub as well, so the tweeters in the door pods probably wouldn't be able to compete with the lows without the help from the Polks. But that's just my setup. Experiment, you may find that yours is different.
  9. Yeah, my windshield was replaced about 3 weeks ago so I would assume they took the mirror off then
  10. On my 96 Es300 How do i get it to clip back on? The mounting thing is still glued to the windshield, but the mirror assembly is off. I can kind of clip it back in but it doesnt want to go the whole way. Do I need to loosen the screw? Also, the part of the mirror assembly that actually attaches to the clip on the windshield has what looks like 3 little bumps that stick out and I'm assuming they are what pop into place to hold the mirror up, but there's only 2 on the assembly right now.. did I lose one or is it meant to be like that? Edit: Just found a pic, I guess I need that third little bumpy thing.. I'll have to check the car. Here's a pic of what I mean:
  11. Dumb question.. how do I set my headlights to Auto?
