  1. I actually tried wiggling but i guess i wasen't ruff enough...I'll try again..Thanks!
  2. Hi, i've done the sparkplugs and the wires already, but theres an cover that goes over the distrubutor cap that i can't seem to remove, i found 3 bolts on each of them but still can't get it off, is there a trick to this or am i missing an bolt? Thanks
  3. thanks for the reply, where should i look for this? when looking down infront of the car?.. left right about 1/2 way down.. etc? Thanks! and this can be reached from the top?
  4. i have an 91 ls400 and i've kinda hand pushed on the belts and it feels a lil loose and when i gas it a liittle faster it sounds like its slipping a tiny bit, i was wondering where the adjuster for is it, so i got an idea where to look for, i can't see anything from up top. thanks!
  5. haven't had a chance to bother with it since the car drives fine, i'm going to pickup a trac unit from the junkyard and see if it does the trick.
  6. i've posted this problem previously, still not fixed, i think its the traction control unit near the throttle because i hear a clicking noise that sounds like its jammed when i leave the car on IGN and not start it...
  7. my signal burned out yesterday and i removed the screw to the bumper lights but I am not sure which way to pull or whether or not I didn't unscrew something else. So I wanted to check with you guys first before breaking something. Thanks
  8. thankyou all for your replies, wwest, i dont have a local junkyard that i can think of that would ever have a lexus, but i'm willing to pay you for the sensor + labor + shipping if you can get your hands on one that works. As for the traction controls guys thanks, i'm going to check the fuse today, would it be in the engine bay or the fuse box next to my feet? I think fuse is ok because when i stick the key on the ON position, it makes a clicking noise coming out of the traction control unit in the engine that sounds like a car trying to start but has no battery charge.
  9. Hey guys the maf on my car seems like its cracked and when i push on it, it turns off the car, i'm guessing it needs to be replaced, anyone know what it goes for and where should i be shopping for this to get a better deal. Also i believe the traction control unit or motor is bad, its the piece where the actual harness plugs into the motor in the engine under the cover that says traction control on the 91 ls400. The trac light wont go off thats why. Thanks in advance.
  10. light actually comes on a second after the car has been started.. is this still a brake fluid problem? Thanks
  11. LOL thanks for the comment.. somehow he'll find a way to lose control sadly... so i guess your saying brake fluid flush might do the job...?
  12. just curious how much does lexus charge you for a remote? i need one for my 91 ls400.. thanks
  13. ok let me do that but i can't plug a scanner into it because its OBD I, its a 1991. i'll do a search right now to see how to get the code.. i've done it on hondas/acuras where i jump the service connector and count the light blinking but thats for the check engine light.
  14. thanks guys for all your feed back, i infact did do a search but didn't come up with nothing.. the site had a error that same day though so that might have been it. Anyhow the Trac is a must for my dad, he totaled his Acura Legend from sliding so this is his "upgrade" replacement. It does snow here and i dont think he's that great of a driver. As for the trac light, i've tried reseting the system but unhooking the battery and it didn't fix it and when i stick the key on the ON position.. theres a clicking noise coming from my engine near the traction control box. It eventually turns off after 10 seconds or so. I've tried loosing control and the traction control doesn't kick in because my brother has a 96 LS400 and i've felt it on there. I guess i'll try bleeding the brake system and checking the fuse first. I'll get pics up soon!. It was a 91 LS400 pearl white for $5,500 with 108k.
  15. Hi everyone, i posted a post yesterday but i dont know where it went, well i recently got a 91 Lexus LS400 pearl white for my dad and i barely wanted to hand him the keys after i drove it home. Lol but the problem with it is the "trac" light is constantly on and its not hte one where it tells you to turn it back on. I believe its the light that blinks when traction control is doing its thing. I guess my question is what should i do to diagnose this myself? I'm pretty mechnically inclined. Thanks Spoon
