  1. Might want to check octane ratings around you as some states have some mid grade gasoline that is not premium but above the necessary rating recommended for your car. The difference between regular and premium isn't that great per fill up. Extracting that over a year, the difference isn't really worth the decreased engine performance / worse gas mileage.

There are better ways to save money.

  2. I would take it to a paintless dent removal shop. Some regular body shops also employ this technique. Look up some numbers in the yellow pages and give them a call.

Usually runs $80-$150 a panel depending on how difficult it is to pop out the dent. It's good there's no crease.

  3. Does anyone know how to activate the turn-by-turn guidance in a 2004 ES330? My friend says that when you starts the navigation guidance, the route he is supposed to travel shows up red, but there is no voice guidance. Only at the end of the journey does it say anything (you have reached your destination).

Is there a settings menu or a volume menu he should go to?

  4. My cup holder wouldn't open and close because someone had spilled coffee or soda and after spraying the silicone spray three or four different times, it now works perfect.

Sorry about that. I always tell me dad not to spill in the car, but he never listens! :D

  5. I wouldn't recommend the split boot since dirt/rocks/debris has already entered the torn cv boot. If you simply cover the torn boot without cleaning out the old grease and packing fresh, clean grease, the contaminants will wear your cv joint, and you will hear clicking pretty soon and then have to replace the entire cv joint.

  6. The coolant system is a sealed system so you will not have have the coolant just evaporate.

You'll want to look out for white residue around the engine bay and under it as well as that is the tell-tale sign of a coolant leak.

  7. Seriously, its not close to a BMW in handling. If you want a car that handles like a BMW, then you need to buy a BMW. If you want something that almost handle as well as a BMW, then you need to look at Audi and Infinity. Then again, BMW's inerior is not as nice, cost $10000+ more and its not as luxurious as a Lexus.

    x2

    nicely said.

  8. Nice. I like to take care of the car when I can as well. Saves money and strangely gives me sense of satisfaction.!

Remember to hold onto your receipts for the oil and filter, and I would recommend putting them into some sort of maintenance folder with all your repair invoices and receipts should a warranty need arise later.

  9. Um, a driveway at someone's house is PRIVATE property. I would ask for a refund for those classes you took!

And you need to come to a complete stop. Meaning you have to fall back into your seat after forward momentum ends, or else it's a rolling stop and not a complete stop. No set time minimum.

And yes, it's up to the judge to believe who's telling the truth in this situation if the cop shows up.

    Good luck.

  10. Some more detail, the 7.1 disc updates the entire provinces of Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia.

  11. hi there,

just bought a 2004 rx330 with nav from the US and brought it up to Canada, now I have a question about the nav.......the current version that is in there covers very little of canada (only southern canada). I am told (by Lexus) that i can buy an upgrade disc from a canadian dealer and that will convert it to canadian and fix the problem. Can someone tell me if there is such a thing as Canada discs and US discs, or if there is one disc for both countries, and some setting that I can change. I am trying to get coverage for Alberta (Edmonton and area), and my current version ends just N of Calgary.

    Thanks for the help\

    Hello,

There is only one disc for North America, which covers both the United States and Canada. The reason you have only limited coverage in Canada is that you have an older version of the disc which did not have coverage of much of Canada. With the new release of the latest Lexus navigation DVD, all of Canada is covered.

  12. Don't quote me on this....buy I have heard from several sources that the Nav upgrade is severl hundred bucks. Can anyone confirm?

Yes the OEM disc cost around $299 on ebay and little more MSRP i think. If you ask the dealer to install it, they will charge a high "labor" charge to install the dvd. Takes up to 5 minutes depending where you navigation drive is located.
