  1. It's an option in the settings as to whether the button press unlocks one or all doors. If you don't have the manual for directions, let me know and I'll go look it up. Oh...just found the excerpt from the manual...I had done this before. Lexus-unlock-1.pdf
  2. I think this is the answer you are looking for. This is a page from my owner's manual: 2007 IS350. Hope it works! Lexus-unlock-1.pdf
  3. Replacing the entire wiring harness is what I'd do if I was the shop manager, had no brains and no scruples, and was short on meeting my revenue targets for the month. I recommend going to a non-Lexus service facility. I have first hand knowledge of situations like yours in which the Lexus team took the easy way out even though the cost was much greater (to the customer).
  4. What is the "Clunk Forum"? We have the clunk too, but I would like to hear from others how this manifests itself and what the dealership does mechanically to rid the vehicle of the sound.
  5. I've got the same car...there should be no static or fuzziness. The ultra-wide angle field of view promotes a very good depth of field, so virtually everything is in focus.
  6. Caution about the cable you are trying to use...if it is not designed for the iPod touch, it may not be going into the receptacle all of the way to make connection properly. Apple uses a very small diameter outer casing on their connectors to seat fully in the Touch or the iPhone. It feels like it is going in right, but it doesn't connect.
  7. That is simply stunning! I don't understand how the physics even could work here...the rotors were depleted at the same (or greater) rate than the pads??? (assuming these are the original pads). I had the new low-dust pads put on mine (per the TSB) at 20,000mi. No mention from the dealer then about skinny rotors. I would ask for your actual rotor thickness measurements from the dealer and the factory new measurement versus the min thickness requirement. I have actually been LIED to by my dealership's service manager on more than one occasion. I have every reason to distrust this service department. Now when I have to use them, I make sure everything is documented. I think you can get rotors for about $100 each, pads for about $50 front, $50 rear. So for $500 parts, leaves $250 service. That's about par for Lexus. I would question new rotors in the rear especially. The whole thing is preposterous.
  8. In Austin, a simple oil change only will still warrant a loaner if you ask for it...even with an appointment. That is one of the perks of Lexus ownership.
  9. My wife and I are about to depart for a month in Colorado in the GX470. The middle row seats are unwanted on this trip, we desire more cargo room. Does anyone know the process for removing the seats (or have a link to a site that shows instructions for removal)?
  10. I have never heard that warmer weather can improve mileage. That is counter intuitive. Cold weather air is normally more dense that hot air, meaning more specific energy per cubic foot of air. Plus, efficiencies improve as the difference between intake air temp and exhaust air temp increase. Maybe the thinner air when the air is warm has less aerodynamic drag..?? Where did you hear that warmer weather can improve mileage? By the way... my IS350 is regularly getting about 23 mpg per tank with mixed city driving. Very consistent for the past 2 years. I've never seen it go above 27 for an extended highway trip.
  11. Same with me...only one time in 22,000 mi on the IS350 (2007). It happened when the car was quite new, and did it only the one time.
  12. I had the TSB done about 1000 miles ago and I notice a huge difference. Normally at 1000 mi there would be a substantial amount of dust. It is negligible now.
  13. I would caution you to get the complete list of what they intend to do. At 20K miles, they were going to charge me $139 to do oil & filter, top off fluids, and inspect brake pads. I opted for the $49 oil & filter because I can top off my own fluids and they were changing my pads out to the low-dust pads per the TSB anyway (warranty). So it appears that topping off the fluids would cost $80!
  14. I use an iPhone with a IS350 with the nav system and it works great.
