  1. I know this isnt the classified section, but theres nothin listed in there and no one looks there, plus these only fit the lx and the lc so i thought this would be an appropriate place to let people know they're for sale. they're chrome. no damage or curb rash, but there is a little pitting in some of the wheel channels. three of the center caps have been replaced so i only have 1 wheel with a Lexus logo. the tires are 275 70 r16 and 3 out of 4 pass inspection, they all clear lincolns head on the penny test. but the 4th tire is bald and has uneven wear. they are michelin ltx's by the way, a fairly expensive tire. i have pictures if youre interested my phone number is 910 352 1603 i have no problem shipping them at buyers expense. i have paypal.
  2. thanks, Hawaii, keep us posted
  3. i have a set of 4 lexus oem 16inch chrome wheels from a 99 lx470. they're in great shape and if you like i can include the michelin tires that are on them. two of the tires pass inspection, 2 do not. make me an offer. pm me or email me at lmdoody86@yahoo.com
  4. yes but keep in mind you were using 18inch wheels, no? (i believe the 2003's had 18's or were they still usin 16's?) which is prolly why your truck only rode well with michelins. if i had 18s i wouldnt use anything but michelins. i have LTXs on my 99 now, which has 16inch wheels, but they're bout shot and if i dont put bigger wheels, i am puttin bigger tires. i have heard the BFG's last a bit longer but performance is the same and the terra grapplers are way more quiet than the BFG keepin in mind they are a/t tires and not the smooth rolling, soft tread michelins
  5. strong, i think everyones front wheels are lower than the back, many SUVs are built like this to accommodate for heavier tail loads. my truck however is lower on the left rear side than it is on the right rear side. Nic, mine is noticed when parked as well, dunno if its noticeable on the road cause i"m always in my car and not behind it to see. cant feel it leanin tho
  6. i have a 99 with 101,000 miles on it. no idea about its previous history of fluid replacement, so is there anyway i can check it myself? also my truck seems to be leaning to the left (the drivers side is about 1 inch lower than the passenger side) but the AHC still operates and it self-levels pretty well unless the truck is really weighed down. whats happening here? should i just get rid of the thing? or are there some preventative measures i can take? 3 grand is not an option for a 22 year old college student to pay for a new suspension.
  7. the drivers side of my truck is a solid inch lower than the passenger side. guessin its somethin to do with the hyrdaulic shocks. any remedies?
  8. i have some 16inch chrome oem lx470 wheels i would love to trade for a bigger size or a different finish (meaning anything but chrome, unless they're 18's or bigger) the wheels are in great shape and look awesome. let me know if this interests you!
  9. i have narrowed my next tire purchase down to two brands as listed in this thread's title. either way i go i am going a size up to 285 75 16 but i dont know which brand to get, any suggestions, advice, or personal experience stories would be appreciated!
  10. dude, i am tryin to do the same thing. i have a kenwood dnx5120 and definitely DO NOT want to bypass my factory amp. its messy, expensive and is hard to retro-activate if that makes sense. what i mean is if u wanted to go back to your original system ( to sell the truck) it would be very very difficult. i have found a few sites that might help you, but if youve done any searching at all you have probably found them yourself already: http://clublexus.com/forums/lx470-and-lx45...iring-help.html following the posts and directions on this thread tells you how to use the factory amp via the pre-outs so you dont 'double amplify'. however its no easy feat and requires some plastic surgery and ingenuity. i am still in question about many things. also since the factory amp is turned on only by a factory reciever, when u install your new receiver, you must do something called jumpering, yes jumpering, the acc wire, so that the amp turns on when the car turns on. a lot of this wiring requires knowledge of what wire does what so for that here are a couple sites that diagram the lexus harness. http://www.modifiedlife.com/1999-lexus-lx4...ring-schematic/ http://www.celiamania.com/wordpress/wp-con...lx470pinout.pdf well thats about all i can help u with since i too am in the installation process and havent completed it yet. i cant even figure out how to get power to my damn kenwood from the truck. do i need to splice the power cable? ughhhhh
  11. 1999 LX 470 pearl white gold package I am the 3rd owner bought with 79,900 miles in Feb 08 now has 83500 (went on a long road trip for spring break) payed $16,600 out the door tax, tag and title I am 21 yrs old and pay around $70 a month for insurance (full coverage too! i pay $94 a month for 2 cars with only a $250 deductible...State Farm baby!!) mods- clear corner lights and xenon/hid conversion kit upgrade problems- rattling noise (listed thread in main forum) repair costs- oil change, tire rotation, fluid top off and general check up- $56.00 at Toyota of Wilmington question- do i really need to spend a grand + on the 90,000 mile service?
  12. theres a high pitched rattling sort of zinging noise coming from underneath my 99 LX470 when i accelerate. once i have hit a constant speed it goes away but through the first 2 or 3 gears during acceleration at certain RPM levels a rattling noise comes loud and clear. it sounds almost like a large coke can with BB's in it being shook around rapidly. i thought it might be part of the exhaust or cat. but wasnt sure so thought i would ask to see if any one else has a clue
  13. my 99's passenger side foglight only comes on about 10% of the time and even then sometimes it will turn off. i checked for loose wires under the truck but didnt find anything obvious, any suggestions?
  14. i just bought mine... a 99 with under 80,000 miles for 16000, pearl white, beautiful. my point is, tho 12k isnt a BAD price for one with 140,000, you can pay a little more and not have the worries at all.
