  1. HID is 'NOT' a bulb--it is a system ; the best you can do is a 100(or 130) watt hi-beam--80 low, from JCW is the cheaper.

Is much better than stock but not better than 4-100watt Cibe Z-beams on a BMW('85 635CSI euro)--sure do miss all the light !!!! but, again, it is the best you can do[or I can do] unless you install driving lights--and there ain't no room for that !!!

Just install them(9004's) and DON'T overdrive them.

So where do I purchase these 9004-type xenon bulbs? What's it mean to not overdrive them?

What about these JCW bulbs? Where do I purchase them? Lexus dealership?

    Thanks.

  2. I've heard and read so many good reviews about Amsoil products that I'm going to completely switch to them (oil and filters). Never even tried it before, but for some reason, I have complete confidence in their products. Does anyone know of a San Francisco Bay area distributor? Thanks.

  3. I have a 1990 LS400, am I able to switch out the stock headlights for HID bulbs? Suggestions or recommendations? Thanks.

Guess I could've easily called up the nearest Lexus dealership to ask, but I'm beginning to realize that the collective knowledge and experience from this forum is quite extensive and unparalleled. Glad I'm a part of it.

  4. Hey GI_Jim,

Please let us know how the install went, whether you're doing it yourself or having a shop install it for you. Does it look pretty clean? Does the mount match the existing color of the rest of your dash?

By the way, can anyone recommend a pretty decent after-market in-dash, internal 6-disc CD player? I plan on utilizing the existing speakers and wires, etc. since I have the stock premium Nakamichi system. Don't know if that's a really good system or not, just bacause the "Nakamichi" name tag is attached to it. Thanks.

  5. A couple of wish-list items....

    1) I'd like a pass-thru door to the trunk via the back seat arm rest compartment. Is there a kit for that? Or can somebody recommend a quality shop to do this kind of work in the San Francisco Bay Area. It seems to be quite involved. Not sure if just cutting a hole will suffice. Re-upholstery needs to be redone for something like this. Please advise, thanks.

    2) There are no cup-holders for the back seat passengers. Is there an accessory available? I think any cupholder accessory will most probably have to sit on the raised center spine area. Maybe have to build my own...... Any recommendations? Thanks.

  6. Gas out here in CA, esp. here in the San Francisco bay area is getting soooo expensive. Does is really hurt to just use regular gasoline? I know I may be sacrificing some performance aspects by not using premium gas, but how often does the avg. user push their car to warrant the gas?
