  1. Go to http://btjunkie.org/ and search for a Toyota or Lexus generation 3, data 7.1 Nav DVD image file copy. (iso format) Download the file with a bit torrent. Then you need image burning software on your PC and a DVD drive that can write to dual layer DVD's. Today, I found a data 6.1 is on that web site. That should be much better than what you now have. A word of caution: Once you successfully upgrade from the oldest data version, the 2002 disk will not longer work because the ROM was upgraded and you will have to use a data generation of probably 3.1 or higher. Originals of those probably can be found on Ebay for around 50 bucks. Still better than what you have now. Be prepared for some difficulty as not all copies will work. The 7.1 data version I downloaded works perfectly in my 02 SC430, but doesn't work in my 01 LS430. I have a data version 5.1 original DVD disk in that car, also generation 3. Data version 7.1 is better than 5.1, but I can live with 5.1. My 03 ls430 was wrecked and I'm getting an 06, so I have a 7.1 dvd for sale. It's on the for sale forum or pm me if interested. Gary K
  2. My 03 ls430 was just totaled in an accident and I saved a few things before the junk yard. Replacing it with a cpo 06 so I won,t be needing the extras. gen 2/3 7.1 Nav dvd _ one year old from Sewell in Dallas $100 trunk nets - $30 tool kit _ $25 located near Dallas, TX shipping $6 Gary K
  3. Thanks, I'll check the injectors and probably clean them.
  4. I have an 03 ls430 with 52000 miles. On cold startup I sometimes get a misfire followed by a check engine light and vsc off indicator. The local Auto zone code reader showed a P0301 cylinder one misfire. I removed and reseated the number one coil and the misfire was ok for a couple weeks put it has returned. Is replacing the coil the most likely fix for this? Also, is there any easy way to get at the plugs other than a long extension and a blind turning. Thanks.
  5. try this http://www.autopartsbylou.com/auto-parts-search.php or http://www.figsprops.com/oemstrut.htm both have replacements. good luck
  6. Just had to replace mine (also 2003) and it takes about 30 seconds. The bottom glove box has a plastic insert in the back that lifts up and out. The reach in and squeeze the two plastic flanges on the inner cover and pull out. Slide the tray out and replace the small filter. Reverse to install. Hold the a/c off button down for about 4 seconds to reset the message. Hope this helps Gary
