  1. I would recommend buying "The Club" to secure your vehicle until you get the alarm fixed.
  2. That looks great! Please post pictures. Advise us of how the color matches and how tough the install was to do.
  3. Yes separate heat switch over the third row seating on roof of the drivers side above the back of the second row seats on my 99 LX470. The kids always play around with things they should not touch ;)
  4. Make sure that the vent in the back seat under the center console is not blocked. I have floor liners that were blocking the foot vent in the back seat and that is where the heat was coming from under the front seats in my 1999 LX470.
  5. I have used the OLD Large Sears Model (Lockable) mounted to the Lexus factory rack with no problems. I have used this same box on a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Durango & my LX 470. I try to keep the heavier / weather sensitive items inside the vehicle. I don't know if I have ever exceeded the recommended weight which (if I recall correctly) is printed on the Lexus roof rack on a sticker? I like the looks of the New Style Thule & Yakima boxes a LOT better but I believe I can probably put more Square footage / shorter items in my box :-? It is certianly nice to have the additional space when you need it and the narrower / longer roof storage boxes would probably allow you to put ski racks and the rooftop carrier on at the same time which is an option that I would NOT HAVE.
  6. I am not sure about a Lexus but I have run Airplane Grade Gasoline in a Porsche 928 and the results were interesting. Better Gas Milage was notable but acceleration appeared to be about the same according to what I can remember. I would call and anonymously talk to a Lexus Mechanic if you can.
  7. No plans I have seen for any wireless recharge of batteries, but who knows???? Old comic books used to show pictures of "Laser Guns" :-?
  8. Nelson the phone display will still show who is calling but you can answer or send busy signal on the call via the bluetooth headset when paired up if your phone will accept voice recognition stored commands? I personally choose not to use a bluetooth car kit because I wanted to have the phone charging while it is in the car :D I hate it when my phone's battery is dead :( ! Bluetooth is some REALLY COOL stuff! Part of my job is testing wireless data over bluetooth devices ;-)
  9. 8th and final picture. Sorry for all of the different notes but I could not figure out how to get them posted any other way? :cries:
  10. Per the request ... attached are some pictures of the PIAA 90 PRO XT Dual Lights on a WAAG Brush Bar on my 99 LX470. I also included a picture of the Center Console where I had the PIAA light control switch installed.
  11. The LX470 does VERY WELL in snow & ice. I was traveling at night last weekend in a heavy snowstorm with ice on the roads on the way up to Snowshow West Virginia last ween and left on (Sunday alone after 6+ inches of snow) with heavy winds that had built up impressive snow drifts by the time I was ready to leave for the weekend. It had snowed for about three days straight while I was there. Last Sunday was the end of the Ski season at Snowshoe and we had GREAT Ski Runs and a 6.5 hour safe comfortable ride home in my LX470 :D We definately got lucky on the weather for end of the season Skiing.
  12. I think you stood in about the sme place I did. Notice my avitar. The point at Big Sur is one AWESOME SIGHT!!!! Nice 450 and you picked an AWESOME route for a road trip. I live on the east coast ... I had a convertible out there on vacation but I sure did miss my LX470 for the road trip :D
  13. I now have these installed and operational. They are large but VERY POWERFUL. The fog lights open a much wider view than the normal low beams do and the pencil beams are unbelievable. No more problems driving at night through the counrty down east :D .
  14. This should be a good place to start: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-ucVxQ...cc=01&c=3&vst=Y
  15. K&N oil filters do not seem to get gunked up as much as Fram's. I have K&N air filters on LS400, LX740 & a Porsche 928. From my experience on those different vehicles I prefer the K&N in a BIG WAY over the standard air filters. I have talked to my mechanics and have cleaned the filters myself regularly. The oil treatment applied to the K&N fliters appears to catch more dirt than a standard filter while allowing the car to operate more efficiently due to considerably less restricted air flow. I personally ran a test with a standard filter on a Toyota Landcruiser vs my LX 470 with a K&N. The Landcruiser belongs to a friend who travels the same way I do to work on a daily basis and he drives his car more on the weekends than I do. After three months my K&N looked like it had more dirt in it than his standard filter on the landcruiser which had been driven 2200 more miles :-? Not exactly a scientific test but after it was completed I purchased the filters for the LS400 & the 928 and have not regretted that decision in any way. http://www.knfilters.com/KNHistory.htm
  16. It is TRULY a MACHINE! The backroads on 219 up into Snowshoe, WV under firm settings was surprising. The comfort setting on the highway has always been the best. My brother has a 2000 Land Cruiser and he has never thought the 470 was worth the extra money until he made the trip up the curvy mountain roads :-)!
  17. This would be a very good place to start your search. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vruCLEQH7XN/c...3&cc=01&search=
  18. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=7741& I think I got all 4 bulbs for $128.00
  19. FYI ... I replaced my high and low beam headlights with PIAA bulbs before going on a ski trip to go to Snowshoe West Virginia recently. The high beams were AWESOME. The low beams seem to run about the same as the factory bulbs did. It was very easy to do. Only tool needed a ratchet & socket to loosen the bold to move the battery to allow access to the light socket in front of the battery. I kept the old bulbs in the PIAA boxes in case I need them again. I do not have HID light package but the PIAA high beams appear to be just as bright.
