  3. On Thursday night of last week on the way home my Check Engine Light came on. There were no problems with temp, oil pressure or general operation of the vehicle so I scheduled the 80k service appointment :-( A friend at work has a had held diagnostic computer which we hooked up to my 99-LX470 and the scan reported error code p-155 02 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 2 sensor 1. His guess was that the oxygen sensor on the drivers side of the exaust manifold has gone bad. He get the light turned off but it has come back while driving home last night? Does anyone else have any addition insight into this problem?
  4. Some things to keep in mind while using bluetooth: http://www.wordspy.com/words/bluejacking.asp http://www.bluejackq.com/whatisbluejacking.asp http://www.esato.com/news/article.php/id=226 I am not recommending against using bluetooth devices but I would certinaly keep this information in mind when using this exciting new technology.
  5. There is not a problem with Lexus on the Bluetooth Compatibility with the V710 it is a VERIZON problem where they required Motorola to disable some functionality which makes it a lot tougher to use the V710 as it was originally intended to function. http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/v710.html :chairshot
  6. Good advice! I have a Porsche (1982 - 928) and a 1999 LX 470. I use each according to the trip I plan to take :-)! Variables are weather , terrain and what I have to tow :-? OFF ROAD is for the LX. Going fast is for the Porsche. No dis-respect to either type of vehicle ... they are both made according to different standards :D !
  7. DougJohn ... tell the truth are you in any of those pictures???? Your answer may be NO but I would not be surprised at all to know that your tires made some tracks on the same paths
  8. This looks like some of the stuff that DougJohn would be involved in :D ! The answer to the question posed above is NOT! The cayenne will do the speed thing better but I do not think a stock H1 could do some of the things that are displayed in those pictures :chairshot:
  9. George put up picture from in front view so I can see the winch. :D
  10. Ladies & Gentlemen: A friend of mine from work (Troy) asked me about my LX 470. He is looking for a New / Used SUV and is impressed with what he has discovered about the LX 470 from the research he has done thus far. Please take a moment to post an honest opinion of what you think of yours to help him in his decision making process Many Thanks, Badams
  11. Sweet Ride. I like the bumper. Send the pictures when the winch is on :-o!
  12. I have a boat that weigh's about 5000 pounds loaded with fuel and my 99 LX470 pulls it pretty well but it does seem to struggle in reaching highway speeds. I have a K&N air filter run K&N Oil filter with Mobile 1 synthetic oil only in my LX470. I would not want to add a lot more weight than the boat at 5000 pounds.
  13. You probably are not going to like this but here it is: http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/v710.html Verizon is in this game for $$$$$ plain and simple.
  14. OOPS I posted this to the wrong page but I finally got it right here: You probably are not going to like this but here it is: http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/v710.html Verizon is in this game for $$$$$ plain and simple. :chairshot:
  15. BTTT You probably anre not going to like this but here it is: http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/v710.html :chairshot:
  16. I am with Robertran. I ONLY use Mobil 1 5W30. :D I truly feel that Mobil 1 is worth the difference in price. I also use K&N oil filters and a K&N air Filter.
  18. I ONLY use Mobile One. I think I get better gas milage and less engine wear using synthetic Motor Oil.
  19. I have heard this problem a lot lately. Especially on the 1999 LX470's. I took a look at Crutchfields and the news was NOT good. I would recommend giving them a call to discuss it over the phone. 1999 LX 470 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wZ0QSW8flz7/c...utoinfo.asp?lp= 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wZ0QSW8flz7/c...utoinfo.asp?lp= Good Luck.
  20. Andrew have you installed a new radio or any new electronic equipment? if so put a volt meter on the battery and see the impact of connection / disconnection of the newly added device to determine if the additional load / constant draw of power may be killing your battery? Best of luck as I had this same problem in a 928 Porsche. It was a dvd player I added :-{
  21. Using a K&N air filter and 5w30 mobile 1 with K&N Oil filter I am getting 15-16 on the highway. The best price I can find on 93 octane premium $2.03.
  22. You may also want to try a junkyard. They have sattelite up & donw link capabilities these days and are able to find parts nationwide very quickly. A 450 or Landcruiser that had a front end impact would still have good jumper seats :-?
  23. Some cellular phones support voice dialing where you can store certian numbers with voice tag commands to allow hand free dialing. I do not know whether the Bluetooth module installed in the newer LX470's will allow the use of the functionality? There are third party bluetooth car kits that support voice dialing if the particular cellular phone you pair with the bluetooth car kit supports voice dialing.
  24. DougJohn you are a WILDMAN :-} I am VERY IMPRESSED. You have posted other 4 wheeling pictures and they were awesome as well. Please keep posting the good stuff and be SAFE!
  25. 99 LX 470 with the radio on about 3 feet. With the cd player on not at all.
