  1. Hello friends! Got an issue. I recently had a new motor installed into my IS300. It is throwing the CEL saying theres a EVAP problem.. I checked all the vacuum lines, etc.. and cant find anything. Also checked the gas cap. I do see an air port that says something about 1psi only, so I dont want to mess with that. Any suggestions or tips welcome. Thanks

  2. 1. I am in Houston, TX

    2. The asking price for the motor as a whole is $600 or BEST OFFERS or parts

    3. My motor is used and had 130K when removed from my 01 IS300.

    4. My name is Reginald and if you have any questions you can text/call me @832-683-8834 or email me, 1RL@live.com because my number will be changed soon.

    5. Buyer is to pay s/h cost.

The motor had 130K miles on it and was driving when it was removed from my 2001 IS300. Never ran hot. I installed a new motor because the timing belt broke and i replaced the head but the bottom in was making a noise. My mechanic advised that it wasnt major but at the time i didnt have time to see exactly what is was because this is my only car.

If the motor is not bought as a whole i will list the parts on here that have been sold. Best offers will be accepted and payment will be sent via PayPal.

Once I accept your offer I will send an invoice.

  3. Well today I was bored so I changed the brakes on my new girlfriends mustang....after thinking for a while I pulled my IS into the garage because it was raining hard the other day and the water ripped the underbody plastic loose on the front and drivers side. It was flooding around town.

After doing that and lookin up some TRD support brackets for under the car....I thought about the alarm and what SMOOTH said about the trigger on the hood latch.

I followed the wire from the latch and what do you know.......it was CUT!!!! This was the PROBLEM :censored:

I had some speaker wire so I just soldered it to reconnect the trigger and PRESTO  My car is back to normal and I dont wanna sell it anymore. Thanks for your helps guys. B)

  4. You people do know you're not supposed to use anything but Toyota T-IV tranny fluid right? Anything else WILL cause problems, and let me explain why. Our trannies are more complex than a normal one, it's called a CVT - Constantly Variable Transmission. Basically it means it changes at different times on different roads, speeds, slopes, etc. even when the throttle position is exactly the same. This promotes efficiency with gas mileage and also makes for a totally smooth shift. About 10k miles after I bought my IS I found out that a Precision Tune in NC had put Dexron III in it and called them about it. The manager knew they had messed up and sent me a refund check for the replacement flush (with the right fluid) in the mail.

Anyway, don't use Dexron anything in your IS. And if I remember correctly, T-4 is brown. I saw you put it was red and a red flag went up in my head. If you put Dexron in your Lexus, you will start having rough, slipping, or hesitated shifts, and who knows what else. That's what I felt before I caught Precision Tune's mistake and got it flushed with T-4. Now it's good to go, so STICK TO THE GOOD STUFF. Aka Toyota parts are the best :D

    GOOD LUCK

Correction: You can use Royal Purple MAX ATF in your car and it will not harm. It actually helps big time. I have used nothing but RP to replace the fluids in all my high performance cars and believe me....its great.

  5. I've seen this problem on aftermarket alarms often but rarely "factory" sets. I can't tell you why your alarm is falsing without actually seeing it in action but I can recommend that you put your alarm in "valet mode" if you're able to locate the button. Its usually below the steering wheel. You will have to hold that button for a few seconds while the key is turned to ACC (when all the dashlights are one just before ignition) this usually disables your alarm...

I dont have a valet button. Its the factory alarm. I uninstalled the other alarm which was only a remote start/keyless.

  6. Lovin the red!!! Man, that took some Ka-Hoonahs! Gotta be brave!

But, my friend, you to have to

er to really set that look. Maybe just go with the Eibach pro kit and drop it just that inch.

Thats the look I would like to have.. I heard Eibach is a great brand of suspension. The wheels come like that in the box. They are iodized. They also make blue and black lips.

  7. 10:57am Central Time Update: Nothing yet. So seems to be good.

Question: How do I trigger the factory alarm?

Have someone sit in the car. You walk away and lock the doors with the remote. Then have the person inside open their door. The alarm should go off.

How long should they wait before they open the door and what if it doesnt go off?

  8. Well I went to AutoZone and bought another battery for the remote. I got an Energizer this time. :) It works. So I went out driving around the city. Parked the car in a quiet place at my friends apt. 1 hour later the alarm starts going off. I turned it off then reset it for it to go bananas agin about 15 min later. Now give me ur take.

*** A little more insight..... It has a remote start system that came with the car when I bout it but is never used and never caused problems before.****

    Ah-Ha!! The plot thickens.......LOL!

Remote start system huh? Do you know which system was installed?

Have you checked the trunk and the hood also? Make sure they are closed all the way down? Have you done any audio work lately? Have you tried disconnecting the remote start system to see if that eliminates the problem?

I just disconnected the remote start just now. There were no hood pins or trunk pins. It was some cheap audiovox crap. I havent had a prob yet but the night is young :D

  10. are you putting the battery in upside down? Also, some times they put a clear piece of plastic or blue film on one side of the battery. You pulled that off?

Thanks for the laugh...I needed it. No the battery is in correct and no film is on it. Now when I put in the original battery it lights up but the new one is not working still...

  11. the battery is a CR1616 lithium. You should be able to find it at any Walmart or Radio Shack or wherever has a bunch of watch and calculator batteries. Just use a pin to pop open the key fob cover and you'll easily see how to replace the battery. It should only cost around 3 bucks to do it. If for some reason it's not that, then it could be a faulty switch. You have 4 pin switches for each door, a trunk pin, and a hood pin. Now factor in that the alarm also monitors the door lock lines and if you try and unlock the doors manually it to triggers the alarm. A dealer scan tool may be able to tell you what it is thats tripping the system so I would take it in to find that out.

If aint aint one thing its another. I replaced the battery but now the remote isnt working (no light). I put the old battery in and the same thing...

  12. Ok here goes. I park my car outside...10 min. later the alarm goes off...Nothing in sight. So I check it out and reset it. This goes on for about a week. After expecting it was the cat from next door crawling under my car...I move my car in the garage. It is fine for a while until about 5am it does it again. Nothing is around to set it off so I dont understand. This is happening everyday. It was not like this when I first bought the car. My question is...WHY? What could make the alarm keep going off by itself?
