  1. Thanks for the advise. I will take a look but I am thinking a small piece of black tape might just cover that light. LOL! mot
  2. 2002 ES: The tail light idol light on the dash stays on. I have replaced every bulb and they are all functioning but the idol light stays on. Even the dealer couldn't figure it out. Ideas?? tx, mot
  3. Just put Bridgestone Taranza Serenity on my 02. About 500 miles on them so far. They are Awesome! I did some research on the net and generally got great reviews. I paid $129.00 each not including mounting, balancing, or taxes. Caution not all Taranzas got good reviews. Hope this helps. leon
  4. I would be interested in the reply from Bosch as I too have a high opinion of them. Please let me know. tx, leon
  5. I had a heated seat kit installed in my 02 ES300 and have found that the cover of the seat has molded to the wires. I can feel them poking me in the back. I would like to peel the seat cover down and put some padding there but I can figure out how to remove the heat rest holder pieces that attach to the top of the seat. Is there a clamp or a release of some sort. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA, leon
  6. 54 have 2002 ES300. Black with tinted window. chrome wheels! Awesome car. I plan to upgrade the stereo with a Pioneer AVIC-Z3. I love to tell people I drive a LEXUS. I do have a fun-in-the-sun car. 1980 MGB. It was a little slow so I stuck Buick 215 V8 HiPo in it. Now that's fun!
  7. I haven't looked at my engine but it seems that you know a bit about the system. Seems to me the easiest way to check would be to see if you had constant power to the injector. If you do then it would be an electrical problem if not it would be a mechanical problem. Just MHO. leon
  8. Thanks for the tip. I went to that website and pay the 5 buck and it was well worth it. The last comment on the page said they didn't like the design and they had the problems during the re-install. I probably will take it to a shop and let them have the problems. Thank you very much!
  9. I have read the tread about the aftermarket install and am ordering the parts. I downloaded the tech manual but I can find how to get the dash apart. Anyone have pics, diagrams, illustrations etc... about how to get it apart? TIA, leon
  10. I bought a used 02 last Feb. I love the car. Make sure the services are up to date. I just had a major service done at 90K? and it cost about $1200.00 but I did put in a new water pump and something else. For my money carfax is one good investment. I only wish I had bought one sooner!
  11. Wow! Thanks for all the replies. Great information all around. I will be looking for a bra for my Lexus. I really appreciate it. Thanks, leon
  12. :) Excellent reply. Just the information I was looking for as I have seen a Lexus dealer on Ebay selling a bra for about $150.00 I just didn't want to spend the money and have problems. The chips and dings IMHO really mar the appearance of my car and repainting would be an option but then it would happen again. Thank you so much for the real world view. leon
  13. Thanks for the reply. I have a number of chips so the clear film won't do much good. If I decide to have it repaint I will put the clear on it. Thanks again.
  14. Try www.tirerack.com. Had some good info when I was buying some tires for my wife's 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. What ever you decide to buy be sure to check the web for prices and you probably can get the price matched at a local dealer. Best of luck, leon
  15. I am looking for a bra but they are hard to find. Would one for Camry or Avalon fit? What years would work? The bodies look the same to me. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA, leon
  16. Thanks for the replies. I am not familiar with "clay bar". Could someone please point in the right direction for some info. A video would be hot. tx, leon
  17. I just bought a 2002 ES300 knowing that I bought a "LEXUS". Yes I did enjoy my fellow coworkers drooling over my car but the reason for the response was LEXUS=expensive! I knew that when I bought the car. I am,however, fairly cheap myself. I like to get my moneys worth and hate to be ripped off. My suggest is that you get a list of the replacement parts and go to your local parts house and see how much for just the parts then get a couple of quotes from the muffler shops. At least then you will know if you are getting a good deal. I did this with the brakes for my Jeep. I can do them myself. The local shop only cost me about $100.00 dollars more and they gave me a warranty for 3 years or 36,000. 100 bucks was cheap insurance plus I didn't have to do the work. Hope this helps. Leon
  18. Just bought a 2002 ES300. It is black. The hood has tons of tiny scratches. What is the best wax, products ect... to fix this problem. TIA, leon
