  1. Ive own boththe Sc300 Manual and the 300ZX N/A and turbo. I would say it depends on what you would prefer. I liked the 300ZX because of the weight and the aerodynamics of it. The motors in the 300ZX are as dependable as you can find but when something breaks (and trust me someting will as the car grows older) you will find that it is a serious pain in the rump fix. The handling aspects on the 300ZX are nice and the chassis is well built for the curves. I had a full racing suspention setup from Tien and I loved taking it out on the twisties. I now own a 1993 Lexus SC300 and I live it. The biggest differance between the two is the luxury aspects of the SC300/400. Both of the SC's are tuneable and reliable. When I bought the SC I was looking for a luxury coupe that was dependable and tunable and the SC delivers on both fronts. and the 2JZ motor in the SC300 is the easiest motor to find parts for and installing them due to the size of the engine bay. The SC are nice on the turns but the tend to not like the tight turns as well as the 300ZX. This is due to the weight of the SC platform. Tien suspention parts will help with this and after some gettin used to you'll love taking the turns in a SC. Like I said its up to you...... Good luck
  2. I love your ride man! My Sc is in the shop getting a repaint done. I would love to find out where you got the gold rims.
  3. I had the problem when I had my five speed trans in my SC300. When I swaped in the 6-speed I put in the high heat Dynamat and I havent had and heat transfer any more. I would put some more Dynamat in the center console. It only takes a few hours and is cheap
  4. 153 in my 6-speed Sc300. I got clocked br my friends radar in his patrol car
  5. Question? "Soarer" is on the back of my car. What does that mean? Sorry but I'm a newbie. :( The Soarer is the Toyota variant of the Sc. The Soarer was never marketed in the states.
  6. Look around. Vertex has a good kit out and it fits perfectly on the SC. There are more kits but they can run a few grand. Look around and you can stumble on a nice kit. I just bought a Exclusive kit and it set me back a good bit but is well worth it to me. So find a kit you like and look for a deal.
  7. Thanx for the input. My thought at the time is that I wanted something that nobody else had. Ill most likely buy another motor to do the work on and swap it in with a getrag 6-speed
  8. Not all of us are VIP guys. I like the clean look of a nice body kit and a nice set of luxury rims. I'm not saying that a wing is ugly but it depends on the car. A small wing would look good but thats in the eye of the beholder. I wold like to see the progess on your SC though. So keep us posted on the mods.
  9. Can you install a stroker kit in a SC300 without using a turbo setup and still get good horsepower gains

  11. For $700 id buy it. I bought mine last year and I lovit. Are you looking to modify it. tell us.
  12. I'm going to have to agree with UFC3 on this case. it would be better if you did it on the track or on a parking lot. in the news hear in the Baltimore/Washington DC area there was some people killed by people doing racing and smoking tires in the area. I understand the cost of the track but I would rather pay a few bucks than a few years. You are good at drifting and you should keep doing it just do it where its safe man!
  13. There are only two spoilers that Veilside makes for the SC series. The first is the CI and the second is the Executive rear wing. You can find them at www.l-tunedparts.com
  14. Does anybody have the Recaro Trend Topline seats in there SC and if you do how are they? I'm about to buy a set for my SC but before i do i thought i would ask around
  15. I'm looking at rims for my SC and was wondering what are the widest rims that will fit the SC? i would like them to still be inside the fenders. the other question is who has the lightest rims out there in the 19" size range?
  16. The best place to find the parts for your motor is powerhouseracing.com. the best place for your aero stuff is L-tunedparts.com. thats where I go to get my stuff.
  17. yea I was worried about the the car's stiffness. I really dont want a roll cage but safety is the key issue. Thanks for your input.
  18. Im in the middle of strippin my SC300 and while I was working I wondered if there was a way to take the targa top off a suprs and install it on the SC300. I know that there will be welding involved but is this a possible custom idea?
  19. I just got my custom driveshaft in. As soon as I install it I'll post u the results
  20. the list goes: 1994 Lincoln Town Car (Sold to a friend) 1986 Toyota Celica GT-S (Junked) 2001 Saturn SC1 (Totaled) 1994 Honda Accord coupe (Highly modified) (Gave to my Brother for 16th B-Day gift) And Finally now 1995 lexus SC300 (Daily Driver) & 1995 Nissan 300ZX (Track Car)
  21. I have 2 questions. 1:is there a aftermarket driveshaft for the SC300? 2: if there is one where can i find one. i have just installed a RPS Carbon-Carbon Triple Disc Clutch and a TRD LSD. i would like to get my hands on a lightend driveshaft if possible. thanx
  22. Car: 1995 SC300 I bought my SC300 5spd in Baltimore in a few weeks ago. Its black with tan interior with 178K miles. I did the basic tune-up (oil, air fillter, and belts) I've had to replace much else exept the carpet. Im planing to install a exclusive body kit on it. I have orders my new chrome HRE 860R rims and falken tires. Performance wise im planing a HKS stroker kit and a single turbo. also i will be swaping a 6spd trans. into the mix. Ill be posting pix as soon as the body kit is installed in the car.
  23. thanx for the advice. i have no expereance doing this. like i just bought the car and i dont want to replace the motor so fast. ill look up aem and see what they say. thanx agian
  24. yea I have a 2jz. how easy is the AEM tunable? i would like to be able to tune it myself.
