  1. I noticed that the 2007-2008 models (IS250, 350, GS, etc) have these really white lights to light the car's license plate..LED lights maybe? Does anyone know if there's any way to put those lights on a 2002 ls430? Not sure if the bulbs were the same, etc.

I installed non OEM white bulbs to light the car's license plates in my LS400, and white LED to light up my trunk. They look really nice!! In my location, u can find ém in almost any car accessories shop!

  2. I noticed that there have been no replies to your question, so I'll put in my silly little thought. My ancient 1994 LS400 started to falter recently, with strange noises, no music and the like a few months ago. After checking in with this excellent forum, I bought a Memorex CD cleaner on Amazon. It leads you through some sort of a cd laser cleaning exercise, with a sexy chickie telling you what to do. Upon completion, about 20 minutes, the cd player was as good as new. Cost about $10.00 total.

Hope your problem is just as simple.

Did the CD Cleaner suggested by TexasLexus94 solve your problem? If not, maybe the CD's are installed upside down??? Please keep us posted.

  3. In the UAE, it is legal to tint upto 30% all windows, rear and upto 5 inches front screen. However, people tend to tint upto 50% or more. Cops have a hand-held digital equipment to measure the tint, and if in excess, a fine of approx US$2,500 can be imposed, and the car can impounded for upto one month.

  4. I changed my fuel filter one week ago. Mine is located inside the fuel tank, behind the rear seat, driver's side. They had to remove the rear seats to get to it. I also replaced a canister which is located under, near the diffential and exhaust pipes. By the way, mine is LS400 year 2000 model.

I hope u get your car fixed soon. Best wishes and God Bless.

  5. Congrats Elk, it doesn't matter how much u paid.....but u r happy with your 430. I just got my LS400 and I am thrilled. My next car will definitely be a 430. These cars are arguably the best wheels one can buy. A used one is kind of like buying a new one....for much less. Happy motoring and all the best.

  6. Just bought my first LS400 platinum Edition Year 2000 Model. It's clocked 71,000 miles. Changed all four tires with new wider ones. Changed the shocks and coil springs, spark plugs, all sorts of filters etc... Now It does drive like new. I am very happy with the car.

Do I need to change the timing belt now?

What makes the Platinum Edition different from the other LS400's??
