  1. i believe the amp is located in the trunk area, one problem is a fail safe issue. you may have a wire loose, or a speaker gone and the amp is just in fail safe and won't produce power or sound to the speakers, i'm just helping with diagnosing it, not 100% at all.also there are audio cables from your stereo to the amp and that would stop sound if not connected. buy a haynes manual at vip or somehwere or download a repair manual from this forum. the repair manual will do wonders. and the haynes will not do as much wonders. also if you find your amp check your fuse. or a fuse somewhere. i believe they would trip before they blew.

  3. the two sensors are located underneath the air box on top of the transaxle right near the battery and the bell housing. i called the dealership and they haven't even heard of it... i explained what happen and they still are suggesting a new trainy what penny pinchers. i fixed the problem but was just lookin for new sensors..
  4. check your sensors!!!! i took out my two transmission sensors. checked them out tested them and then put the counter gear speed sensor where the turbine input sensor was got everything back together and everything works fine......... no slipping in any gear. very happy. i may need new sensor which will run $75 a piece.....
  5. i recently lost reverse in my 00rx300 dealership said new trainy....i researched everything i could. i took the transmission speed sensors out and swtiched the two put the counter gear speed sensor where the turbine input sensor goes put it all back together and i have reverse back. no slipping at all.....check your sensors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. i have fixed my trainy problem by switching the two transmission sensors, the counter gear speed sensor and the turbine input sensor. i just switched to two and i have my reverse back and fully functioning trainy. i didn't replace them with new just switched them it works.... dunno why i took them out to test and didn't get really anything from testing them with a magnet.
  7. i have a 00 rx300 need repair manual, can anyone help.. having way too many problems to afford a dealer to !Removed! me around....
  8. has anyone solved their trainy issues by changing a sensor, transmision speed sensor. i was told by a reputable trainy shop to buy a speed sensor for 75 dollars and replace it. he said that should do it. my problem is in my 00 rx300 it slips at 1000rpms in reverse everytime unless there is too much pressure on initial backup up, uphill or similar. the o rings tend to leak on the sensor. the two trainy sensors are counter gear speed sensor, and a turbine input sensor, i was thinking of the counter gear because of counter be back the reverse may be affected by the defected sensor.. someone help me on this.....any similar stories
  9. Check the electrical connections, connector, into the tranny..... The '01 to '03 RX300 is prone to BURNED ATF so the fluid may have been drained to "hide" the symptoms of a failing transaxle. Actually I changed the fluid myself after I bought it. I'll check the electrical connections. What gets me is it only does it up hill. have you found out what your problem was??? i have a problem similar with my 00rx300 that it slips in reverse but does not get back into reverse i have to let it ide backwards and only on level ground. i also have to let my 00rx300 to idle back, it will kick in and out feeling like its in nuetral, i'm looking in to the counter gear sensor or one of the 3 sensors on the transmission, i also have been told something to due with the throttle position sensor but not likely something i would say it is. i have also been told that the low gear clutch plate is slipping due to wear and tear. but i'm hoping on a sensor... something a dealership won't talk about. they just want to replace the whole trainy with new sensors on it......think about it, it could be just a 100 dollar part......

  11. i have a few questions...i've been reading about some sensors one being the counter gear speed sensor, input turbine speed sensor (the transmission speed sensor), and the transmission range sensor. and what about the powertrain control module. would any of these give the transmission problems? i dont beleive the screen is clogged, that would cause problems in the other gears. also i can feel the vehicle go into reverse but when the rpms are over 1000 it starts to slip. also in snow mode the reverse will slip less.... but i am in the in process of changing the fluids you sugested.
  12. why would it be only in reverse that the trainy slips???? it slips less when cold and i have just about lost reverse. could it be any sensors... speed sensor?? my abs will activate when slowing down at about 2mph every time... i was told a wheel speed sensor. and in reverse my abs won't activate when in reverse on ice or snow... jus wondering if there was a connection between them?
  13. my rx300 is awd with 137000 miles on it i live in maine 6 plus hour north of boston in all the ice snow and the ice and dirt they put on the road. the fluid smells a lil metalish but still has good color. not sure when the last flush was done or even a fluid change...... could the fluid be bad and not allowing the right amount of lube....
  14. my rx300 just started slippin in reverse. i bought it in may of 07 and since had to change the spark plugs and one coil sill have some a/f sensor issues and p1135 heater response malfunction. well besides that when the vehicle goes into reverse and you step on the gas the car will seem like its in nuetral for a second and then bang it kicks in, but if you sligtly touch the gas and almost coast it wont slip...... while in drive you can barely feel the vehicle shift.. it couldn't be any smoother. damn these aliens...... is the trainy gone or could it be a speed sensor?????
  15. the only sensors i'm aware that i can clean is the maf
  16. i had the codes pop up po117,po171,po125,and my range performance code i think p1135, then i had misfire codes random misfire. i changed my plugs to find i had platinum instead of iridium, then had to change a coil, i bought it in may of 07. with 130k on it. well after fixing the plugs and coil i still had the 4 codes come up. could one sensor trigger the other ones?? i have come to learn that the bank one is considered cylinder 1,3,5 and bank two is 2,4,6 side. the coil was in cylinder 5 that i had to replace. code po171 fuel trim to lean bank 1????? fix it or try a diff. sensor code po125 ect should i replace that one first.....?????? code po117 ect family......???? could the misfire cylinder cause gas to reach the o2 sensor bank 1 and damage it? leaving it with the fuel trim to lean code???? fixing the ect would that help with shifting if its saying the coolant temp is insufficient???? i have all the ????'s and nowhere to start. i could replace them all and be stuck with a hole in my wallet or get lucky and come out with just a rip....

  18. need a tune up or a coil or two on spark plugs. o2 sensor is malfunctioning because of bad plugs or coil haven't read that one yet.........
  19. i have a 2000 rx300 with about 135000 mi on it. the check engine light came on and i found 6 different codes. which were, po303, po300, po302, po125, po171, and p1130 i need some help. i was planning on getting a haynes manual. reading all the post about different problems i was hoping one thing might be wrong causing all the other codes to be flagged. the spuddering just started and the engine light started blinking, as before it was solid. i know what all the codes mean but not sure which to address first.
