When you ordered the part what was the name. I have a 1997 ES300 and want to use the keyless function. I just purchased my Lexus and it only came with 1 key also. Does any one know if the chip is in the same location. Also did you have to have it cut to match or send in your key to have them cut it for you? This is driving me crazy.

I recently purchased a used 1997 Lexus Es300. It only came with one Key and it appears to be a Genric Key. Do I need to purchase a Lexus FOB Key. The Car starts and the Key Opens the Drivers door but will not fit the Passenger door. I also recently purchased two remotes from EBAY and tried to program the remote but it will not confirm the program. I Think the Key has to be an FOB key but not Sure. Please help as I want to get this remote working. Also I noticed on the Lexus-parts site that the car has to be registered with Lexus. Where do I go to register with Lexus besides the website. I have already registered with Lexus on their website. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
