  1. I bought an ECU from the US for my SC430 as I thought it was faulty- the roof wouldn't sequence properly and would jam partially open. Put it in and no difference- finally tracked it down to a faulty servo on the rear trim panel, so now sorted. Consequently I have a roof ECU that I don't need and the supplier won't take it back- anyone need one? Send me a PM.
  2. Anyone got a stock wheel? Car's here next week.
  3. I need an airbag steering wheel for a '94 GS300 (Toyota Aristo) that I've got on its way to Australia- it has an aftermarket momo wheel fitted and I need a stock one to meet Australian compliance (and be removed as soon as the engineer has signed it off). Anyone got one they'd sell or loan for a few weeks?
  4. Do you know much about the SC430 roof? We've been trying to fix one on a Jap spec 2001 for about four months- it cycles up to the point where the rear trim behind the rear seat should rise, but most times it doesn't and the who thing stops. I've replaced the ecu and it made no difference- this is driving me and the people working on it nuts. Lexus here in Brisbane (Australia) are totally clueless about the 430 roof. Help!
  5. Plugged in the new ECU and no difference, so it wasn't the problem. Any ideas? It seems to hinge on the rear trim panel behind the rear seat, which most times doesn't lift when it's supposed to during the opening/closing cycle and everything stops. Help!!
  6. Thanks muchly, I'll get straight on it and advise the outcome.
  7. The roof stops halfway through the cycle and has to be manually closed or opened- it usually seems to happen when the trim behind the rear seat doesn't rise as it should during the cycle, which it does from time to time indicating the switches and servoes are working; when I posted on this previously a reply said that it sounded like the ECU was fritzed. If I can find where it's located we can plug the other one in and see if it works.
  8. Anyone know where the ECU for the roof is located? I just got a second-hand one from the US in the hope that this'll fix the opening/closing problems but none of us have a clue where it's located, and can't find anything on the 'web about it.
  9. Any ideas on where I can pick up a second-hand ecu, and be able to return it if the one in the car is OK? Also any ideas on how to get the onboard diagnostics to work in English? We've hooked it up to a machine at Lexus but it only reads out in Japanese.
  10. I've got a Japanese spec Soarer SC430, 2001 model and it's given no grief at all until about 8 weeks ago when the roof stopped during the opening sequence, at the point where the rear trim panel should lift and allow the roof to stow then drop again, spreading the two side trims and rear section out to meet the from of the trunk lid flush. It works if you manually raise the trim panel, but then sometimes jams- sometimes the panel lifts of its own accord so the mechanism seems to be OK. I think the entire thing has gotten out of sequence (as can happen with 206 Peugeots and SLK Mercs) and may need to be reset, but I can't work out how and my handbook is in Japanese. Any ideas? I've had it at a workshop for the last two months and it's driving us all nuts.
