  1. FYI.. I have a 2004 LS430 and when I updated to 8.1 I lost the override capability. I know nothing yet about the 9.1 version. Bob
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. My wife gets coffee nervs over stuff like this. This forum is a fantastic tool, especially with people like you, that can give what I call learned advice to us novices.. Once again, thanks a million!! Bob
  3. I have a Maint Requires indication on my dash & an exclaimation mark in "red". How do I reset this? My ride is a 2004 LS430 Ultra and it has 50015 miles on her. The 50K service was performed about 35 miles ago. It is my wifes car, and the dealer is just over 2 hours away, in Raleigh,NC. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Bob
  4. 04 ls430 was the "Consumer Reports"' - Best Luxury Car tested EVER!! Which was not a bad "kudo" I have one, and can say, that I can find nothing to dissagree with them about on this claim... herls430
  5. In my 04 LS430 it's on the right side in the trunk, under the spare tire cover, and there are two philips head screws to remove to gain acces. It then tips up and out. Bob
  6. I put Kumho Escta ASX tires on a month ago, and have been very pleased. They are a 40k mile tire as were the Dunlops that were on it when I bought her "new" in 04. Ihave noticed no difference in tire comfort, handling, noise, or performance. So far, a great buy, at an "out the door" price of $112 each for a set of 4 at our local tire dealer...
  7. To Hutch, the last two I bid on went for $186 & $187 (gen 4 ver 7.1) Bob
  8. I had this same experience with my krzr phone and when I inquired, my service provider from AT&T said my phone did not support phonebook downloads. I had to input each number on its own. I had a siemens phone prior, and it downloaded my entire phone book at once.. I guess it is the phone manufacturer, and not your lexus to blame. (at least in my case) Perhaps you will have better luck than I did (I even had the service provider try, they thought it a piece of cake till they tried and failed also) Good luck, Bob
  9. Thanks, Gordon, I appreciate your reply. There are just so many (apparent) variables I guess I was just gun-shy of buying something that wouldn't work.. Everyone that sells these things make a statement that you should "ckeck with a dealer" before you purchase, because if you buy it, you OWN it no matter what. They tell you your car is included via their chart, but "check with a dealer" I've contacted 2 dealers via e-mail, but no reply. I'd heard it would be that way, because your not buying from them... Again Gordon, THANKS!!
  10. I'm looking to update the nav disk on my 2004 ls. I see many of these disks for sale at version 6.1 or 7.1 but in viewing the disk I see an alpha numeric (ie: U21, 22, or 30, or W41) and I also noticed different versions (ie: 03.1, 03.2, 04.1,04.2 etc) are all these different V's,W's with numbers and versions 0_.1's or 0_.2's identifying specific vehicles? I've looked on ebay and sellers have charts that list my LS430on all of then (2004-2006 being gen 4) for both the U's, W's, 0_.1 & 0_.2!! If it looks & sounds as I'm confused, I am. I don't want to buy something I can't return, that won't fit my cars application.. So I'm screaming "someone please help me understand. Thanks!! Bob (bob_cline@yahoo.com)
