  1. I don't have to measure it, I took pictures of it and saw visually the lip of the valve doesn't return to the full height and this is making the gap 1.51mm's. If you've seen stuck lifters...what did you do to fix them? I'm seriously concidering taking out the head or just trying to clean it after taking out the shim. I need HELP!!! I don't want to loose this Lexus. :cries:
  2. Yes, I have tried pouring oil onto the shim and turning the crank. To clarify... when I turn the crank and after the lobe pushes the shim down, the lifter doesn't return to the same height as all of the other lifters. By the way, what do you mean by "I would put some oil and turn the crank to see if it come up. Keep me updated." Do you mean take the lifter out and pour oil in, or take the shim out and pour the oil in? Thanks for your reply.
  3. Hi, I'm in the middle of replacing the shims of my car because of that annoying clicking sound when running my 98 ES300. When I took the engine apart to expose the lifters and cam shafts (removing the air intake and valve covers) I started to use the feeler gauges to determine the bad shims and I came across the exaust valves for cylinder #4 and saw that the shim was .38 mm when it should be .25mm-.35mm. At that point I thought I was home free, but then the really bad news came and a shim for exaust in cylinder #6 is bad. Which struck me as weird because the 2 shims were right next to each other and there was no oil in the grooves around that area. Then I found out that the gap between the lobe and the shim was 1.51mm :cries: But I further investagated the situation and found that the valve was not returning to its normal height! :cries: Soooo what does this mean??? Do I have to take out the head??? And the weird thing is...doesn't the oil come out of the top half of the valves, this could mean oil is clogged=>not letting the valve come up=>No oil to the 4th cylinder=>??????? What can I do to free up the valve? Or do I have to take the head out? Any input or further questions would be greatly appriciated!
  4. I had the same problem with my radio. I bought my lcd straight from Pioneer the manufacturer for the whole radio. The total came to 95.66 after shipping. Part # is CWM4319 http://Parts.PioneerElectronics.com -or- 1-800-421-1404. This is a new oem part and I don't think there was a warranty. I feel sorry for you man $125? damn. ~Oh yeah...I have a 98 so you may want to call and ask or search for your year.
  5. OOPS! Not dents just paint chips. I checked the products you suggested, www.autovisuals.com and www.noscratch.com out and they have very reasonable prices...that is if the actually work. Have you guys tested these products? (scale of 1-10) (10 being the best. ) !!THANKS FOR THE ADVICE!!
