so the work and price sounds fair?

I had the water pump done before along with the timing belt about 8 months ago. They just replaced the belt again because it was shredded on one side, the Idler, tensioners, and pulleys. Both lights are now off and it is running smooth again.

Hello, My Engine Light and Trac Off light both came on and stayed on with a "whining" noise coming from the front of car. I took it to a repair shop and they did a Scan ECM for codes and Code #13 was found. They found that two sensors were out of sync and the Cams were out of time and when they looked at the timing belt about a quarter of an inch of it was gone (width wise). They took it apart and found that the bearing wheels that the timing belt sits on were bad (not sure it that is what they are called - pulleys?). One barely would turn, the other made noise. Also the tensioner was bad. They replaced timing belt, timing belt idler br and timing belt tensioner along with the two bearings (pulleys?) and reset the timing. The total cost was $600 and would like to know if this is a fair price and if the problem sounds right? Good mechanics are hard to fine. I don't mind paying as long as it's fair and the work is accurate. Curious to know what kind of mechanic I used. Thanks for any information, Joe

okay, I got another sensor and it still leaks, not as bad though. Teflon tape didn't work, so I used a high temp, oil resistant gasket sealer. I hand tightened the sensor on, then turned it about 1/4 more with a wrench. I don't understand why it still leaks. No oil light is on. Any ideas? eerf95

thanks. there was no o-ring, maybe I over tightened it. I'll get another.

Okay, what am I doing wrong? I got the new oil pressure sensor and put it on, but it is leaking oil at the threads. I put teflon tape on it and it seems the more I screw it on the more it leaks. I hand tightened it and it still leaks but not as much. Any ideas? thanks, eerf95

Hello, My Power Steering cap is missing it's dipstick. ('95 SC400). I can't seem to find a replacement that has a dipstick (have to go to dealer), so in the meantime, can someone take a ruler and measure the markings on their Power Steering dipstick and post them? I can at least in the meantime be able to measure the fluid with your measurements. Thanks, eerf95

I wish I went here first. I had a no heat problem about a year ago and took it to the dealer. I spent $3000 after they said they replaced the core. About 2 months ago, I had no heat again. This time I noticed my my coolant was low, added some, and had heat. Now I wonder if that was the problem before and I just wasted $3000. lol

no, just leaking oil between the seams.

Hello, I have a '95 SC400 and was wondering what this grey plastic thing with the wire sticking out of it is near my Oil Filter? (see picture). It is leaking oil (when car is running) between the plastic seams. How do I remove it? and does it need to be replaced? Thanks for any help, eerf95

Hi, I don't know what it's called, but the rubber "hose" that is between the driver door and car body that has the wires from the door panel to the car in it. I need to replace mine. Does anyone know what it is called and if I can get it at the dealership or Autozone? Thanks

I don't know, but recently I took my door panel off to fix mine (found out I had a busted wire between the door and body and didn't have to take door panel off, lol). You can do the same to look inside and see, maybe a nut came loose on the window guides or something. It isn't that hard to do, just make sure you get the hidden screw behind the door handle, it's behind a panel that pops off on the door handle.

Hello, My driver side window control most times doesn't work. I now avoid opening my driver side window because I can't get it back up at times. The passenger side window works from that side, but driver side controls don't. I assuming I need to replace it. Does anyone know where I can find the part other than the dealership? Thanks, Joe
