Our problem with the limited center console storage. . . our dogs stepping on the sliding covers causing them to open and disturb their jumping to the front seat plus when they step on open console they cause the DVD lid to pop up. . .My dogs want Lexus to design something more user friendly? Maybe I can find something to place over the console covers?

Appreciate all the information. In trying to piece together all the posts wish someone would outline the differences in the updated version, i.e. improvements, additional mapping information, visual additions. It would also be great is one would advise that the update is worth the cost. We would like to improve our 2004 Gx 470, but to be honest, if the change is not great we will just use our Garmin. Please advise. Thanks. Ordered latest update verson from local Lexus dealer today. Will post how it works. Cost 260.00. Installation by dealer is free. Dealer installed latest navigation version last Thursday. Works perfectly. Noticed newer updated lane and road identifications. Although the disk cost $260.00 ( free installation ) it works well.

Our 2004 GX 470 driver's seat is comfortable with lumbar adjustments feeling fine. It does seem to help on longer drives to reposition the seat settings to increase comfort. Raising and lowering the seat is sometimes forgotten when adjusting the seat. Rember to also adjust the steering wheel as the angle and reach of your arms can affect back feelings. We wish the passenger seat had lumbar. Good Luck!

Wife has owned two Lexus SC 400 Coupes and absolutely loved them both. This is our first GX 470 and we are equally satisfied. Lexus has a philosophy of service and customer care second to none in the Automolile industry! The quality of all Lexus products we have driven has been excellent. The resale and trade in value far exceeded expections. Pre owned models usually have received superior care and can offer a great value in owning an outstanding automobile. I don't think you will be disappointed in any Lexus model you choose!

Blizzard Pearl with gray interior. This is the first white SUV we've owned. We had a 94 Gold and a 97 Gray Land Cruiser prior to purchasing the GX 470. Our GX 470 is a 2004 year end model fully loaded with all options.
