  1. Congrats on your new car! Glad to hear that you are enjoying it so far and there should be many more miles of fun! B) --Duckman
  2. They told me that the gas cap was not holding any pressure. They un-did it...retested the pressure and it was holding. I have never had a problem with a gas cap before and I have no idea what I did incorrectly when I put the cap back on. Anyway, if it happens again, they said to bring it back and they will replace the cap. --Duckman
  3. What displays on your radio will come from the metadata associated with the tracks on your CD's. Some CD's that are professionally produced will have the appropriate metadata, some will not...therefore you will have blank information on your radio. The same thing happens if you download music from iTunes or other on-line music sources. Some downloaded music will have the metadata, some will not. So if you burn a CD from your downloaded song, and the metadata does not exist, the title and track info will appear blank on your radio. --Duckman
  4. I am going in on Monday to have my GS checked out. Friday morning, my Check Engine light and Orange Exclamation Point light came on and the multi-display said Check VSC. After reading your post, I remembered that I had filled up with gas late Wednesday night. I put the gas cap on, but something did not feel right, so I tightened it again to make sure I heard the clicking. I just went outside and undid the gas cap and re-tightened it, but the lights are still on. Maybe a coincidence, but I am going to have them look at the cap first. --Duckman
  5. Mine has done this exact same thing, numerous times. I know that the radio is still connected to XM because the song and artist information still appears in the display, and switches as the song switches. So...it is not a signal strength thing. I meant to ask them about it the last time I was in, but I forgot. --Duckman
  6. Sorry to post again, but I just spoke to a friend of mine who had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires put on his Mitsubishi Eclipse this past weekend. So far....so good. He was raving about the ride into the office on Monday. He said that they have a 45k mile rating on them...I just checked the Michelin website and they are backed by a 45k mile limited warranty. Here is a link: http://www.michelinman.com/tires/ultra-hig...-as-plus/34615/ One more comment about my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires....they not only make the ride better, they look sharp on the car. I like the look of the tread...corney, but it has an impact on my feel for the automobile. Here's a picture and info: http://www.michelinman.com/tires/ultra-hig...pilot-sport-as/ --Duckman
  7. I just replaced my Dunlop run flats last week with a set of Michelin Pilot A/S. They are Z rated and provide a MUCH better ride than the run flats ever did. Everything I have read about the Michelins has been positive. There are quite a few posts about them in this forum. --Duckman
  8. With my GS 300, I get between 24 and 25 MPG in the city. During the winter it will drop to between 20 and 21 MPG. Last time I filled it up, the computer said that I had 434 miles remaining on my tank of gas. Sorry...that was off post.....to get back on track....I purchased mine in July of 2007. It had 12,500 miles on it and I paid just over $38k. So if you can find one with 30,000 miles or more on it, I would be willing to bet you can find one for $32k or under. I would certainly recommend the CPO program. They bump your warranty to 100k miles on the car. Not a bumper to bumper, mind you, but it is nice piece of mind. --Duckman
  9. Cool! Resetting the system should allow you to keep your PSI a little lower. My tires, which are Dunlop Run Flats, state that they can be inflated to 51PSI, but I have been told to keep it to between 33 and 36 PSI. I had to laugh at your last comment. My two daughters love it when I have to go in for oil changes. They run to the car knowing full well that donut holes and juice are waiting for them at the dealership. --Duckman
  10. 35 PSI seems pretty high to trigger the sensors. I have had my car for just over a year and my sensors have gone off twice. Both times...I started the car the morning after it had to sit outside all night...and it was one of the first cold nights of the fall. This weekend, I had to go out of town and so the car was in a hotel parking lot all night. Saturday morning, it was 42 degrees. I turn the car on and sure enough...low tire warning. I checked the pressure...all 4 tires were at 28PSI. Filled up the tires to 34PSI and the sensors turned off. It was the same situation last fall. Unfortunately, I don't have a base to start with. I never checked the pressure before I had the car out all night. Needless to say, I filled up my tires to a point which is less than yours, and my sensors turned off. Maybe the sensors can have the sensitivity adjusted, and yours are more sensitive? --Duckman
  11. I have it on the nose of my car, above the grill and about 1 and a half feet back. I did not install it on the side mirrors or the front bumper. I purchased the car with 12k miles on it, and the previous driver did not have the protection installed. He/she took a rock which dinged the paint. The dealer touched up the paint, and after installing the 3M protection, you can see a minor bubble where the touchup paint is. Other than that, it is invisible, and I would highly recommend it. As for the side mirrors and front bumper, I look for dings every time I wash the car. (Which is 4 times a week) I have yet to see anything. Don't know if I am lucky, or they are more resiliant than the nose of the car. My greatest resistance to installing it was peeling. Would it peel back...collect dirt/dust along the edges...or just wear badly. So far, it has made it through two summers and a winter in Minnesota, without showing any signs of peeling or other types of wear. --Duckman
  12. Wow! I love the idea of subtle changes to the body, making the car more of a wolf in sheeps clothing. Audi is a master at this. If you look at their S series, really, the only differences in outward appearances to the A series are the chrome side mirrors and the S logos It is going to take time to catch up to their competition in this market. BMW's M5 and Audi's S6 have years of development and technology behind them...as well as many years of racing dominance to assist with their development. I would suspect pricing to be in the $80k to $90k range, similar to Audi's V10 S6....which ran my dad $83k. I believe pricing on the M5 is also in that range, but demand for the car makes it extremely difficult to get from a dealer...at least here in Minnesota. --Duckman
  13. That is a cool looking ride! --Duckman
  14. Here you go. There was a thread started in May about this question. Should have the answers you are looking for. B) http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...eadlight+adjust --Duckman
  15. I just drove home...in what I consider "perfect" driving conditions. Winding road through hills and farm fields, nobody in the car with me, no other cars around me, 66 degrees, all 4 windows and moon roof open, and Jazz music playing loud on the XM radio! I LOVE driving my car on nights like these! :D --Duckman
  16. Unfortunately it is not one PDF, but many...and I would assume very sizeable. If you just got it on Tuesday, I would guess the paperwork will be completed within a week or so. Sorry. --Duckman
  17. Actually, I find the PDF manual easier than the physical manual. You can search for topics off of the Lexus Owners site and it will return the pages you need from the PDF version.....much nicer than thumbing through 300+ pages to find what you need. ;) --Duckman
  18. There are a couple of general threads out there about this procedure. Here is one: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...amp;hl=odometer Also, from another thread in this forum, someone searched and found the following: --Duckman
  19. Very nice and welcome!! Silver is a great color! My '05 RX300 was silver with a black interior and I loved it. My GS is Black with a Gray interior. It is my favorite color on a sports car....has great presence to it, but I have to wash it almost daily to keep it looking sharp. Especially in Minnesota winters....road salt/chemicals make my car LOOK silver by the end of the day. (As an aside...my avatar picture is a stock photo of a GS...not mine B) ) --Duckman
  20. They had cameras at multiple intersections in Minneapolis for a few months. Somebody sued the city under the premise that the cameras did not know WHO was driving the vehicle. The camera only took pictures of license plate numbers and the owner of the vehicle received the ticket. Well....made it all the way to Minnesota's top court and they ruled with the person suing the city. They had to remove the cameras and pay back people who had been fined. There were also instances of people stopping at a red light in the right lane of an intersection, but someone in the left lane goes through....the person in the right lane received a ticket in error. Now...they were able to contest it, but what a pain. --Duckman
  21. Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have to ask; I have seen comments, in numerous posts about runflats in which people state that they have to put a spare in the trunk after getting rid of the runflats. My car has runflats, and has a spare in the trunk already. So....do I have to do anything different when my runflats are toast and I put non-runflats on? Just curious...(and I think I set some sort of record for writing the word "runflats" in a single post :P) --Duckman
  22. I do the exact same thing in my office parking garage. I have this fear that when I leave work at the end of the day, my lights will have been on and my car won't start. I don't know if it is minor OCD, or just a lack of trust in technology. --Duckman
  23. This is why I buy 'em.....source MSNBC.com http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26072125/ --Duckman
  24. On your BlackBerry, go to the Manage Connections icon on your home screen and select Bluetooth Options. Once in the Bluetooth Options, hit the Menu button and select "Transfer Address Book". I am on Verizon Wireless, but the menu options should be the same if you are on a different carrier. --Duckman
  25. It does not fully open, it just unlatches.
