  1. What do you guys think? I bought my LS in November of '06. One previous owner and it had 260K as well as detailed maintenance records with the car. The car has a few dinks on it and small rust spot by the drivers side rear wheel well. I replaced the old non working radio with a pioneer deck (something simple) and upgraded the speakers and sub in the rear deck to polk audio and to amps (something simple for my listening pleasure not for the neighborhood to hear). I also installed an after market remote start and keyless with alarm. I too like the previous owner have kept all records of maintenance and is garage kept. Just two weeks ago i changed the water pump bracket because the bearings were worn out. Since i bought is the car now has 269K, im worried that now that i have done some mechanical work on it other parts may begin to fail. I love my car dont get me wrong, but was wondering if i should sell it because of its high milage and or because of other future mechanical problems. If anyone thinks otherwise of me selling it please comment back. Again, selling it is not what i really want but at the same time i would like to know the longevity of my LS. thanks everyone.
  2. thanks guys, your info has been very hrelpful so far and the guide is an awesome tool. cant tell you how much it has come in handy! but after taking it apart, the fan braket and gear seen to be the real problem., not the water pump and timing belt. the cranking sound was coming from that area. So thats where i am at thus far. although difficult, this car is much fun to work on and much better when i get it going again! Thanks again!
  3. im currently replacing my water pump and timing belt on my '91 LS, im doing it myself and wonderin if there is any diagrams online anyone could suggest for me to use., and if there are any problems i should look out for while replacing these parts. thank you all in advance for your help.
  4. my 1991 LS400 has 269k on it and running great! how long do these beauties last? forever?
  5. Whats going on everyone... i just recently bought a used '91 LS400, an awesome car! the previous owner kept intricate deatails of maintenace and the car is super clean! there are a few things wrong tho., the screen which displays the temp has completely blacked out., and was wondering if anyone knows how to replace it or where to find it ( i have checked everywhere). the second thing are the rims and tires., i was on youtube (wheeler dealers LS400 episode 4/5) and saw that new rims and tires could be put on the LS from an IS200., does anyone know if this is true or not? i want rims maybe some 17'' (not chromed), to give the LS a younger bit sporty look. what do you suggest on the rim size, tire size and if you have upgaraded the rims and tires already, how is the performance/handling of the LS. thanks everone.
