  1. Here is a stupid question. How do i do that? I'm sure it has to be taken to a dealer. Do you just walk in and tell them you want to update the NAV software and is it free of charge or does that all depend on where I go???
  2. self explanatory to you smooth :-( that looks like French to me and i believe the OP is looking for help in deciphering those codes. I'm kinda guessing they have something to do with the O2 sensors because of the bank 1 and 2 thing. But, I'm sure I'm prolly wrong.
  3. The factory NAV in our 2002 IS300 Sportcross does the same thing. You have to hit the ok button and once you get going over i believe between 5-10 mph it will not let you enter any information into the unit.

    Stupid Is...

Pay cash NC, Cash , My man, Cash Cash is KING ;) Or you could pay with Cheetos and beer.................. I couldn't resist............... a bit off topic. You dcfish Sir are prolly the biggest user of the two smileys bumpin beer mugs that i have seen on this site. lol.. That is all.
  5. i don't mean to step on your toes spawn, but, this is only true if it's ever been reported in that condition. Carfax can only tell you what someone else has told them you know.
  6. or use some duct tape :whistles: lol I'm so kidding. I'd go with jibbby on this one since he knows bout the leak already as having happened on other cars already.
  7. I have only seen that happen withc ars that have air suspension. Basically it has air bags for shocks in the back. Helps smooth out the ride a LOT more. I'm just not sure and a bit surprised that you might actually have that on your car. I'm sure there is someone here that has had more personal experience with your kinda car.
  8. Depends where you go as in dealer vs Midas or mom and pop joint. I believe most places charge bout 100 bux for a four wheel alignment, But, I can't say that for sure since i haven't gotten one done yet. I got it done for free when i was in school.
  9. i think we'd need a lil more info on what the car is doing when u try to crank. Like is it making a clicking sound like a relay, is it even TRYING to start like a REAL slow turning starter or nothing at all?? Usually in my experience with other cars where the lights come on real dim, it's just a bad connection at the battery cable. Either the cable is loose or corroded like you said. Try cleaning the corrosion and making sure the terminal on the cable end hasn't gotten spread open too far or something. Might just be something simple as that. Let us know what happens. 10. woo hoo someone else from illinois. ok back to the OP cnstarz: as zocks said brakes are simple you can do em yourself. You might need a tool for the rear caliper because the piston needs to be screwed back in. You can't just push it back in like you would for the ones in the front. I'm sure there is a tutorial around here somewhere for that. Shouldn't be too hard. As Far as the struts and shocks go. I'd leave that to a professional since it requires more specialty tools to do the job right like spring compressors, among other things. Also I believe its a good idea to get an alignment after any suspension related work, just to be safe. You don't necessarily need to take it to a Lexus dealer. I believe it would be cheaper a Toyota dealer or any other place that does suspension. Just ask people in your area for a reliable mechanic and someone that knows what they are talking about. Hope this helps, let us know what you end up doing. Pe@ce love and chicken grease from the middle east.
  11. My brother lives in Round Lake Park, and I have other relatives in from Waukegan, Highland Park area. But we were raised in Wausau, Wisconsin. Everyone has just moved around since then. I think you should be fine. I lowered my car an inch and half and I have no rubbing issues at all. So I imagine that if you put a tire on that is larger by an inch and half, you won't have any rubbing issues either. Usually the rubbing would happen from a wider tire issue, not so much the diameter. The 215/65 should be ok. Your speedo will be off though, so remember that as well. So if the speedo reads 55, you will actually be speeding. well considering this whole hoopla is for winter tires i don't think speeding will be an issue per say. Now turning off the traction control and finding an empty parking lot with fresh snow is an entirely different story. Thank you for everyone's help on this matter. I shall be ordering the new tires tomorrow. Hope everyone had a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.
  12. no worries bro it's all good. My initial concern about the tire isn't the ride height but since it IS a higher tire will it rub on the inside while turning or nething or hit the springs in the back or nething. I haven't had a chance to look at the suspension so i'm not sure what it actually consists of as far what the tire has to clear or what not. Sorry i know i'm asking newbie questions even though i kno about cars. I just haven't had a Lexus before so i'm not sure about how the cars are constructed or anything like that. I really DO appreciate everyone's help on this board. I'm just looking for a good day to out and snap some good pix so i can post em. Probably get some good ones with the snow and everything. Even though the car's my mom's and not mine. I still steal it every chance i get. MUAHAHAHA. Pe@ce love and chicken grease from the middle east. Wisconsin and Illinois meaning ur from the area. Where are ya from??
