  1. Wow, nicely done. I forwarded this to a buddy who bought the car used and it didn't come with the manual.
  2. I know this is an ancient thread, but since it's still around. . . I have the iPhone and it connects seemlessly and works really well with the bluetooth system. On top of that, the phone really is all it's cracked up to be. I've had lots of smartphones, and iPhone really does work.
  3. Who knew?! The RX330 is FWD? The RX is my wife's and I rarely drive it, but I had no clue it was FWD. I just assumed because it was a SUV cross over that it was rear wheel drive.
  4. RX330, 2006, 1st owner I can't remember exactly what we paid but it was at the Austin Lexus dealership (wife bought the car) The car has run like a champ and has ~33k on it now. The only problems I've found is that the paint on the front bumper, hood, and fenders chips EXTREMELY easily. The front now looks pretty sad. I really need to do the paint chip repair, but I'm worried about how it will turn out.
  5. Is it just me, or does the thought of Ebay instructions on how to override Lexus navigation worry anyone else? <_<
  6. Screw buying it! Someone steal one from Lexus Mission Impossible style, so we can get some pics NOW!
  7. I'd love to drive that car like that. . .on someone else's dime!
  8. I've used lots of them on cell phones including touch screen types. They work well. I imagine the screen will be somewhat difficult to install on the near vertical surface. Take your time and it shouldn't be too bad. I'm not sure if the company ShieldZone offers screens for your car, but DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. The quality of their material and the way it is cut is substandard. You can defintely find better.
  9. Good info. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
  10. I answered I let somoene else do the work, but I used to work on my car. After college and with work, I just don't have the time. I find it's better to pay someone else to do it because personal time as gotten too valuable to me.
  11. :( Really sorry to hear that. I lost a cat I had for over 20 years recently. It was really difficult because he'd been a part of my life for so long. Only one way to make the loss eaiser. Get a new puppy!
  12. I imagine that we'll see a price hike in the near future here in the states. Does Lexus produce some cars here? Some other foreign companies do that to reduce their exposure to currency changes.
  13. Have you ever read their detailed reports? I didn't use to either, but I have to say they are typically pretty fair. You have to realize that they aim their articles at the middle of the road user as well.
  14. Would this apply to a '06 IS350? I just complain about the break dust issues and they'll replace them?
  15. Don't let the personal settings along convince you to buy new. Really, in the end there's not that much stuff you'll want to change. The ONLY thing that I had changed was that when I unlock the doors, all doors unlock. From the factory only the driver's unlocks with you use the sensor on the door. It's done this way for the ladies that fear someone jumping in their car. Buying used can save you the inital depreciation hit, which is good. A car is not an investment, but it is an asset, so you should try to get the most money out of it as you can. All that said, I bought new because I like new cars, so it's up to you to decide.
  16. I can say, without a doubt, that Northside Lexus service is a dream to deal with. The sales people their are 'eh, but service is beyond top notch. I agree with the above poster about Sterling McCall. I almost can't believe the difference in the level of service between McCall and Northside. I've never used Westside Lexus, but they are owned by the same group so the service there might be as good as Northside, but I don't know for sure.
  17. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Completely depends on the adjuster and NOT on the real damage to the car. You're best bet is to have to brought to a body shop you KNOW will fight to have the car totalled. That means finding every little thing wrong with it highlighted and replaced. I've found that the Lexus dealership body shops are typically top notch.
