  1. More than likely it is the rear speaker, however it's possible for one channel of an amp to go bad. <_< If it sounds garbled and it is from the speaker it means the speaker has been damaged and it will only get worse.
  2. Probably not, if you can't do it yourself. Just sell the car yourself and knock off a grand for all the stuff that needs to be done. <_<
  3. All are very easy to fix and relatively inexpensive, except for the rims. <_< Drive belt is that rubber belt that connects all those important things like power steering, a/c, alternator and so forth to the motor.
  4. Supplemental Restraint System aka airbags and that's not your mother in law! Did you check both cables for looseness, geek! Also if the dome light was staying on it should be somewhat obvious, as the car would be lit up. <_< Maybe trunk light or under hood light, if it has one.
  5. Hook up a test speaker and see if garble is still there, if it is amp is bad. If not speaker was bad. <_<
  6. Car requires maintenance, take it to the dealer! <_<
  7. Laser out of adjustment. needs cleaning or going out! <_<
  8. Do you mean squeal? If so then DCfish's suggestion should help.If not then it may be the power sterring pump bearing. ← Thanks guys, I took It to a shop during lunch and It looks like It might be the lower control arm on the passenger side and/or the bushing on the lower control arm..... I'm going to drop It off at the dealer this week. ← That could do it as well!
  9. btw, i have a 1994 gs 300, as that info im sure is pertinent... ty ← Yes it's pertinent and thanks for letting us know! Check the fuse, you shorted it when you plugged in your cell phone charger. Also make sure nothing like a penny fell into the lighter.
  10. Do you mean squeal? If so then DCfish's suggestion should help.If not then it may be the power steering pump bearing.
  11. That's not what guy said! Why would a fuse have anything to do with it?? <_< Unless you're just resetting it? That still won't fix the problem, maybe only temporary.
  12. Sounds like it could be a loose or corroded battery cable or connection! <_< Enough of this boring automotive talk and let's get to the fun stuff. Take this pink ribbon off my eyes I'm exposed And it's no big surprise Don't you think I know Exactly where I stand This world is forcing me To hold your hand 'Cause I'm just a girl, little 'ol me Don't let me out of your sight I'm just a girl, all pretty and petite So don't let me have any rights Oh...I've had it up to here! The moment that I step outside So many reasons For me to run and hide I can't do the little things I hold so dear 'Cause it's all those little things That I fear 'Cause I'm just a girl I'd rather not be 'Cause they won't let me drive Late at night I'm just a girl, Guess I'm some kind of freak 'Cause they all sit and stare With their eyes I'm just a girl, Take a good look at me Just your typical prototype Oh...I've had it up to here! Oh...am I making myself clear? I'm just a girl I'm just a girl in the world... That's all that you'll let me be! I'm just a girl, living in captivity Your rule of thumb Makes me worry some I'm just a girl, what's my destiny? What I've succumbed to Is making me numb I'm just a girl, my apologies What I've become is so burdensome I'm just a girl, lucky me Twiddle-dum there's no comparison Oh...I've had it up to! Oh...I've had it up to!! Oh...I've had it up to here! Yes I despise that dork gwen stefani and that's as simple as it gets :chairshot:
  13. Actually sounds more like the TPS is in need of adjustment. <_<
  14. Yes, I've seen a kit. It's simillar to the copper trace material used on circuit boards. <_< here and here
  15. My bad, meant to say GuyTelefunken... 1000 apologies... got you mixed up with Turbo... both of you have been great in your responses ... Thanks again, ← That's OK, Guy's my brother from another mother so it's all good! :P
  16. I like the snapon or mac one. I considered buying one till I saw the prices. Autotap is supposed to be very good. autotap
  17. I believe you just remove the battery cables and hold the brakes to drain any residual current. Yes, you'll need to take it to the dealer to check for codes. However, if you reset the system all codes might be lost, if there not backed up by a battery backup in the ECM. so try the reset and if it continues, then take it to the dealer for a diagnostic check.
  18. Thanks TurboGS300... Is it difficult to remove the speaker cover on the door panel... I haven't tried it yet, but I don't see it being an easy project unless it pops right off? ← Not sure, however I don't believe any lexus speakers covers just pop off! I believe you'll have to remove the door panel. <_<
  19. More than likely it's a problem with one of the ECM's. You could try resetting the system or checking codes to see if it helps. <_<
  20. Might help if we knew WHAT YEAR GS you had, since there are some differences!
  21. Only way to know is to disconnect speaker and hook up another and see if it still does it. if it does it's the deck or amp, if not it's the speaker. Yes, 6 year old speakers do rot and deteriorate.
  22. What defines expensive? Compared to what? I send $45 a year on oil and (1) oil test. I spend $24 for ATF fluid every 2 years. ← I change my oil right about 3000 miles, synthetic or non synthetic. It's too much hassle to order Amsoil in advance and I don't feel comfortable leaving it in for the intervals they recommend. So, in essence I'd be wasting money and oil. It's much more convienent to jam over to walmart and pick up some mobil 1 synthetic and it's only $20 for 5 quarts. I flush my A/T with T4. It seems to be lasting about a year before it starts getting dark. <_<
  23. Unfortunately I don't, However you can download all the pics and instructions for $10 at the site I posted about. B)
