Hello again, I'm looking to improve the gas mileage and performance of my car and I was wondering if any of you guys can give me some advice about air filters or intake kits. I'm not into racing and I just drive this car to work everyday which is a 30 mile highway ride for me. I have heard some air filters will improve power by letting more air through the intake and I have seen some cold intake kits selling for around $220, but I don't know if that will improve my mileage enough to pay for itself. Any advice? Thanks

In my case, the coolant level was down to nothing in my reserve, so I added in coolant to the reserve and nothing happened at first, but after about 2 days the heater started to kick in and I have not heard any noises as of yet. I'm pretty sure the noise comes from the heater core or a pump or switch the controls the core and it is trying to flow the coolant through and since its not available, it makes that noise. I checked the Coolant reserve and it was empty, I added coolant in the reserve and drove around for 2 days, and the heater finally started to kick in. Everything seems to be working fine for now. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. I will check that out and report back. I noticed the flap moving up and down as I switched to air recycle and it still does. I did check my coolant level and it was all the way down to nothing in the reserve. I filled it back up, maybe that has something to do with that, but I'm sure it has something to do with the heater not working. I turned the car on for a little and played with the heater guage but it keeps pushing cold air. I hope I didn't damage anything permanent. Thanks again

For the past 6-8 months, I hear a noise coming from the back of the glove box. I describe the noise as some sort of electromechanical relay switching on and off. There is another post in this forum that states the same problem and they describe the noise as a malfunctioning pump sound. I have taken the glove box out and looked at the components in there but could not figure it out. The cabin filter is clean. I ran the AC on and off but I didn't think it was related to that. And just in the past 2 weeks, the sound is gone and my heater is not working, but the AC works fine. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have the same exact problem, for the past 6-8 months, I hear this noise coming from the back of the glove box, and it is not the cabin filter. It does sound like a pumping noise or as I would describe the noise as some sort of electromechanical relay switch turning on and off. Lately the sound has changed a bit and sounds more like a pump squicky noise. I have taken the glove box out and looked at the components in there but could not figure it out. I ran the AC on and off but I didn't think it was unrelated to that. And just in the past 2 weeks, the sound is gone and my heater is not working, but the AC works. Any suggestions? Thanks
