  1. I have a 2004 RX 330, has 29K miles now --engine clamp was loose so I heard the slightest but still annoying vibration sound each time i went over unpaved or bumpy roads...it was very hard to target and the head technician even rode with me for 20 min and they had my car 3 different times before realizing it was an engine clamp that needed to be tightened...it was so faint yet annoying, almost sounded like my spare tire was loose or something FIXED --AC duct had a slight whistling sound--they replaced something inside FIXED --now lately when i turn on the engine, i just noticed a faint sound...like a clicking sound as if my tape deck was running but no music was coming out (except my radio was off) i noticed this when i turned on my car and was sitting in park, looking at something before leaving the parking lot. any ideas what this may be? =X --also, the transmission lagging issue--i def noticed a marked improvement in steering and acceleration when i had a 2007 loaner RX...it was so much smoother and i didnt feel like the car had to try too hard accelerating from stop to go...and im not even a leadfoot or steps on the gas hard at all etc...they reset the transmission for me...but i cant tell its way better--seems like my car has a mind of its own and somedays drives better than others...
  2. Ive been reading some threads on here but am not sure what to really do still. Can I update my navigation on the RX 330? Mostly, Id like the POI to be better, my bf has a Garmin and his shows about 99% of the POI we enter into it...its like looking up google maps for something on his. On my nav, its so outdated, only about 50% of the POI are in there and the set up is poor as in when I search "target" for instance, it wont show me the list by distance with the closest one first...it'll instead return a bunch of different "target" etc... Just wondering if the functionality is much better with the upgrade disk. Lastly--which specific upgrade disk would I need and where can I buy it besides the Lexus Dealer? Thanks!!!
  3. Hii!! I'm new to the forum but was excited to hopefully learn more and exchange tips/information with everyone on the board =) My 2004 RX 330 just passed the 29,000 mile mark and is due for the 30,000 mile service... I forget, is there a list somewhere that shows each mile marker service Lexus recommends...I know there was a 1K, 5K, 10K and 15K as well as a 25K service but I dont recall what they all entail...I just know each one always has an oil change and checking lots of stuff. Up until now I have taken it to Lexus service but the 30K one is about 700 USD I think (correct me if Im wrong) and was curious if people usually take it to Lexus still or if I should take it somewhere else and what it is that I really would need done. I just dont want them to miss something or not check something if I take it to a non-Lexus place...but again, if I can save a few hundred dollars, that would be awesome. Thanks!!!
  4. just wondering too, if/when I do end up needing to buy a set of 4 tires...I think I will be going with the Michelin Energy MX4 (been told by a few people and read online that they're quieter and smoother of a ride than the Goodyear Eagle RS/A that I have now which came with the car)... what has been the best deal people have gotten on the Michelin Energy MX4 in 235/55 R18 and are all tires in this size super pricey? as in 150 USD and up? I never had to buy tires before and didnt realize that normal size cars can get away with tires for about 200 USD for a set of 4!! Thanks again so much for any feedback and help!!
  5. Hi!! I'm new here and this is my first post, so I hope this is in the right area... I have a 2004 RX 330 and it has the Goodyear Eagle RS/A tires 235/55 R18 size, and I have about 29,000 miles on my car, yep--havent driven it that that much. Anyhow, in spring 2007 my lexus dealer told me I needed new tires soon, I heard this again from another mechanic and a couple friends of mine looked at my tires and felt some "balding" on the thread, especially mainly on the outer parts of the tire. My dad thought having a little over 20,000 miles on my car and needing new tires was kind of odd. And he asked me to look into warranty for them? I asked my dealer/service guy about it but they seemed to think this wasnt crazy (needing new tires after 25,000 miles or so.... Any advice or feedback on this and who I would contact about getting some kind of pro-rated warranty on it? I wouldnt worry as much but the tires are about 200 USD EACH to replace all 4 its a pretty big sum. Thanks soooo much!!!
