  1. Much thanks! I think I will be going with the Continental Extreme Contact... The Conti is a decent choice, but is several years old with many complaints of poor ride quality.....I'd go with the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S personally. ;)
  2. Welcome to LOC Darren! B) Do you have a specific Lexus dealer your currently dealing with or are you just calling dealers for their best price? I ask because I have contacts & if your interested, I might be able to help you out. B)
  3. Can I ask why you want to 'de-badge' the car?
  4. Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Continential Extreme Contact Those 4 are very good bets based on what your looking for. B)
  5. Just pretty much the whole site my friend B) ....no need (at least at this point) to add an additional forum for us Canadian's.....most issues apply to both Canadian & U.S. spec Lexi. ;)
  6. What did ya not like about an Infinity? I did consider them, but Edmunds.com showed a few too many issues. Inferior quality to the Lexus in addition to what you have mentioned.....and lower resale value. ;)
  7. If possible get service records (engine sludge issue)....the TB & WP are due at 90k as well. All in all.....as well cared for example will give you many years of trouble free service. Good luck & welcome to LOC. B)
  8. Welcome micfly B) I thought I remember that question asked a while ago on here......I'm sure someone will chime in though.
  9. Welcome to LOC Gadget B)
  10. Do you have a max price range your working with?
  11. What size tire do you need?
  12. I had an IS 250 AWD as a loaner for a whild during the winter (fitted with Bridgestone Blizzak winter rubber). What a difference that makes in snow & ice compared to any all season tire you can buy. My suggestion is to get a set of winter rubber on sale from tirerack for next season (along with a good set of all seasons or even summer rubber for the other 3 seasons). In order to take full advantage of the AWD system.....especially in the winter. I will be getting 2 sets of winter tires for my wife's Subaru & my ES 330 for next season.....most definately. B)
  13. Michelin's are definately one of the best choices depending on what your looking for in an all season tire JGT.....having said that, pretty much anything is better than the OE Bridgestone's that were factory equipped on our ES's. There are other very good choices as well, again.....depending on what one is looking for in a replacement tire. :)
  14. D Nuts, you have a private message. B)
  15. Contact Amsoil directly www.amsoil.com & ask them for a list of dealers near you. :)
  16. Happy Easter folks! :D
  17. Welcome D Nuts :) Where abouts in Canada are you located? I ask because I can help you find what your looking for (if your interested, send me a PM.....I will explain in more detail). The shifting issues are prone to the U.S. spec ES's not Canadian models so much (due to emission issues). My best advice to you is make sure you find one that has all service history. If you get a 2003 for example under 110 k, you should have the remaining factory powertrain warranty left (6 year/110k). B)
  18. Sorry bud, but Lexus does not offer that long of a warranty......I think it was a 6 year unlimited mileage 'perforation' warranty anyways. B)
  19. I'd say 15 - 20% is about right as it's not a 'limo tint'......5% would be too dark. ;)
  20. Kudos Kil....you did your research thoroughly. B)
  21. It's a sealant that is used & to be honest, I've never had any paint problems with my cars in 15 years. ;) But I agree, I should apply stuff at least several times per year........tough with an 11 month old around though. :) I use to wax my vehicles every 2 weeks when I was younger (boy I was anal about that stuff back in the day!).......just can't be bothered as I get older.....I guess that means my OCD is getting better huh?
  22. Anyone know if the 2009 Maxima's revised VQ 3.5L V6 will take regular fuel? I've been looking, but found nothing thus far.
  23. I had the 01 SE 20th A.E. :) I agree it was a pretty good car........but tires for that ride killed me lol....at the time, there were few 225 50 17 tires offered......but those Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires were something else!
