  1. That's too low for me.....I keep mine at 34 PSI.....I find that gives a pretty good balance of ride, handling, fuel economy & even tire wear. 27 PSI is too soft imo. :)
  2. Did you get my PM Darren? :)
  3. You probably already have this info, but I thought I would share just in case... http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com...uzu-trooper.htm You can also check out www.nctd.com I find there are very good & detailed reviews & you can compare 3 vehicles side by side for complete specs. ;)
  4. As a general rule of mine....I try not to buy the first year issue of a complete redesign. There are usually some 'teething' problems that are usually worked out after the first year. Just a personal opinion. B)
  5. I'm looking for the ES350 Premium Package (no nav) w/ Smokey Granite Mica on Black. Yes, I have a trade in, a 1994 Toyota Camry, beige leather, wood trims, V6, A/C, 17in wheels, basically fully loaded but no sunroof. Thank you very much for you help! I will definitely shop around for the best deal! :D Happy to help Darren. :) How many Km's on your Camry? Also, you have a PM. :)
  6. I would get the plugs replaced in addition to what you have mentioned if your planning to keep the car for a few more years. As for the tranny, I would just do a 'drain & fill' personally & replace the plug gasket. Won't hurt to go with the 'tranny kit' either. Grab a couple of jugs of Toyota coolant at your local Toyota parts department (it's pretty much the same price as the others in the auto parts stores so why not just use it?). PCV valve & fuel filter I agree should be changed too. As mentioned, your belts are probably just fine.
  7. Yeah, my sources did say the cost of the upgrade itself, plus labour.
  8. Found a local dealer, I'm in San Diego. How many quarts do you need for a drain and refill. Also I'll bite..."UOA"? Go to the amsoil website & you can look up your specific vehicle with all fluid capacities (also in your owners manual). UOA = Used Oil Analysis. ;)
  9. Don't quote me on this....buy I have heard from several sources that the Nav upgrade is severl hundred bucks. Can anyone confirm?
  10. Understood Darren. What is the exact package & colour combo your looking for? I can get the ball rolling & will send you a PM tomorrow. ;) Do you have a trade in?
  11. Agreed that the IS is a tad on the small side for me as well.....I was glad to get back in my ES. As for reliability....what others above have mentioned. Drive a few models to see what your most comfortable with. Any questions after driving different models....let us know. B)
  12. You've got nothing to lose bud. B)
  13. A high performance all season is more than enough for the IS 250 AWD imo. You won't have as harsh a ride going that way either & still have excellent handling. :)
  14. (lol) --------> Washington
  15. The Conti is rated 5th overall in it's category (ultra high performance all season), the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S is rated first overall in the high performance all season category... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...ot+Exalto+A%2FS
  16. I have dealt with Lexus of Richmond Hill in the past as well (they are part of the Don Valley North Lexus/Toyots group). Would you consider going slightly out of town if you were able to get a better price? It has been my experience that DVN Lexus is one of the more expensive dealers to deal with overall.....as their 'fees' add up pretty quickly. I can get into more detail if you like (I can send you a private message). Let me know. ;)
  17. I would make sure of this before you decide to pay the fine.....especially for insurance reasons you mentioned. Consider getting a lawyer out of state that specializes in this field to fight the ticket on your behalf (in Ontario we do this and do not have to appear in court.....that's why we hire the lawyer...and to never represent yourself) but I am not sure how the law works in your area (whether you need to appear in court with counsel or not). I got nailed for speeding a couple of years back in my previous Lexus & the ticket was going to be a 4 pointer! I hired a lawyer, had the trial delayed twice (if the cop does not show up, the case many times will be dismissed). Long story short, I got the ticket reduced to a $45 fine (fron $350!) with no points. Total cost of the lawyer was $200.....more than worth the price considering how much my insurance would have gone up for the next 6 years. B)
  18. Is the vehicle in question a German make or a Turbo? I ask because many of them consume oil exactly like you describe & it's considered perfectly normal. B)
  19. I'd go 245/45 personally.....all things considered. B)
