  1. Welcome Sean! B) How many kilometers on your IS & overall, how do you like your Toyo Garit KX's? I am considering getting a set for my ES here in Ontario for next winter.....I've heard very good things about how they perform in snow & ice. B)
  2. Do you notice anything out of the ordinary El? Are the hood struts covered under the extended warranty? I would suggest paying a Lexus dealer an hour labour to go over the car with a fine tooth comb to see if they can find something that is covered. I purchased an extended 'Lexus' warranty for my previous ES & it was pretty expensive......all I got out of it was rear suspension bushings at 110,000 km's.
  3. The pink stuff is Toyota Super Long Life Coolant & should not be mixed with the red (Toyota Long Life Coolant). Double check your owners manual (it will tell you the capacity as well).....it will tell you what you have (I'm 99.9% sure it's pink though). Capacity should be around 11 qt's. If you can get ahold of service records for the car that will tell you if the coolant has been done yet....if not, it will not hurt anything by having it changed (I changed mine on my 2005 ES 330 with the pink coolant with only 42k miles....just for piece of mind). $25 per gallon? Might want to call a few dealers (Lexus & Toyota) that is way overpriced.....it should be in the range.....if not only slightly more than what you can buy stuff in any auto parts store. The coolant should be pre-mixed already with 50/50 coolant & water. Hope this helps.
  4. The closest thing I was able to find was a Lexus hood deflector.....no bra of front end mask.
  5. If the alignment check's out OK, I am not sure what else to suggest.
  6. I can't speak for the folks in the U.S.....but we have 4 major brands in Ontario (sunoco, shell, petro canada & esso)....they evaluated the quality of them.....by far the 2 best in order were sunoco & shell. The other 2 (especially esso) had a much higher sulphur content (PPM). Sunoco & Shell are the only 2 I use up here......I like Shell, Chevron & Texaco south of the border.
  7. Moved to the ES 350 forum. Welcome to LOC rcherry. I agree that the Lexus dealers charge a 'premium' to say the least for many of their services & don't blame you for wanting to look after things yourself. For future reference, I would suggest you stick with the OE filter.....& stay well clear of Fram....they are not highly recommended around these parts & for good reason. ;)
  8. Several years back......it was the beginning of June & my hand to god......we got 2 - 3 inches of snow in these parts! It melted almost right away, but could not beleive what I was seeing.....the end of March or early April to see snow in some places is not totally uncommon. ;) But I agree it sucks.....just when you figure you got all the salt & schmutz off your car too.
  9. Welcome to LOC orachase. I beleive the details your looking for are in the owners manual. If you do not have the owners manual you can call Lexus head office & have one mailed out to you. You can also use the search function.
  10. Is there anything mentioned in your owners manual?
  11. Understood Lazar....however, the Bel STI seems to be the only detector I can purchase for use in Ontario & not have it detected by the OPP & St. Thomas/London's finest. B)
  12. Valentine One vs. Beltronics STI Driver: Found this excellent write up comparing two of the very best radar detectors available... http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=100542
  13. I appreciate all the info Lazar! Many thanks. :)
  14. Thanks for the info Lazar! You are correct about Ontario's OPP too. ;) The Bel STI Driver looks very interesting! Too bad it's about $500 (I like the fact that the RDD can pick it up though). :) Do these things ever go on sale & what stores in the U.S. should I check out? And please tell me that was not you in the youtube video? lol Poor bugger. http://www.beltronics.com/sti.html
  15. Perhaps for some....I wouldn't lock up all four wheels however. ;) I was referring to the actual police officer's electronic equipment......not an inexperienced driver who might panic if his/her detector beeps.
  16. Did you get a print out of your alignment results?
  17. Did you mean the Toyo Proxes 4? http://www.toyo.com/docs/tires/tires.asp?l...category=luxury
  18. On the V1 website, it states that it has front & rearward radar antenna's & front & rear laser sensors. This might be a stupid question (I'm trying to educate myself with these things...but they are illegal in Ontario) but can a cop tell with his/her equipment that you actually have a radar detector or jammer in your vehicle?
  19. Awesome write up bud! Well done. B)
  20. If you have no luck here.....you might want to try e-bay, an auto wrecker/salvage yard & possibly have some luck at clublexus.com. :)
  21. Does not sound like many other things can be changed except the steering rack now...what tire pressure do you have in your tires? Keep us posted on what the dealer suggests. B)
  22. Darren, you have another PM with my guy's contact info. Hope this helps. :D
