  1. The trans was serviced at 60K miles but I'm not sure what exactly was done. The car has 108,000 miles on it now. Do a drain & fill every 2 years or 30k miles moving forward & you should be good to go for many more miles. :) Glad Lexus met you half way at least.
  2. Actually, I get my Amsoil products wholesale (oil, tranny & Ea oil filters).......it's actually cheaper than M1 products off the shelf at Walmart or any autoparts store....and I only do 2 oil changes a year. ;)
  3. Another vote for the Triple Tred's here. Also the Michelin Primacy MXV4's are worth a look too. B)
  4. Did you buy the car with service records by chance? What was the cause of engine failure? Might be from the engine gelling issue.
  5. I agree it's difficult to see in that pic......perhaps a professional detail will restore it's look?
  6. They should provide you with good service. B)
  7. I have heard of (1) years ago and Amsoil did make good on it. Oil, tranny fluid Mike?
  8. Yes, by all means, and give Lexus a certain/sure reason for voiding your warranty. Actually it won't.....it meets (and exceeds actually) Toyota Type IV requirements.....your warranty will remain intact without question. B) It's much better stuff than the actual Toyota type IV fluid. ;) Just had it installed in my 05 ES a little over a month ago & used it in my previous 2001 ES.......never had a smoother shifting transmission after using Amsoil ATF. Never heard of any mechanical breakdowns as a direct result of using Amsoil either.
  9. Agreed....post some pics of your LS David. :)
  10. Looking sharp! B)
  11. I would consider either the Michelin Primacy MXV4's (they are a newer model compared to the Energy MXV4's with a longer treadlife) or the Goodyear Triple Tred. More info below... Michelin Pilot Primacy MXV4: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...;speed_rating=V Goodyear Triple Tred: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...;speed_rating=V The Goodyear will trump the Michelin bigtime in the fowl weather department (especially in snow & heavy rain as the tread pattern is much more aggressive). The Michelin will be the overall quieter tire with slightly better handling. Those are the very best two available for what your looking for.
  12. I've noticed the same thing on my 05 ES.......so I guess it's normal. Got to love the 'cooled' seats feature though which works great.....especially on black leather lol. B)
  13. Blue Shale Mica on Ebony Leather. B)
  14. Hopefully they will make one for the 2002 - 2006 ES's then......I will keep an eye on this. I will just use the OE paper filter until then.
  15. I had an EAA air filter for my 2006 Forester XT......which I was very suprised they made & not for a car like the ES/Camry.....considering how many of them are on the road......I am having a hard time understanding why they don't yet offer them. Post your findings with the EAA air filter mburn....very curious how it will compare to the paper filter results. :) Cause I know they make that filter for the 97 - 01 ES.....had one in my 01 too.
  16. If you go with Platinum plugs.....go with NGK or Denso plugs.....stay away from Bosch. Might want to go to www.sparkplugs.com to get an idea of prices.....very good site. It's interesting, my 2001 ES came factory equipped with iridium's.
  17. I have new tires on order (New ES 350 alloys are in my basement) & will be selling my OE alloys & the Bridgestone Turanza EL42's......I will continue to keep the new rubber at the same 34 - 35 PSI (most tires in our stock 215 55 17 size have a max pressure of around 44 - 51 PSI). I have the adjustable suspension (AVS) option on my 05 ES so I can keep a good balance or ride, handling & fuel economy.
  18. This is what I got from the NGK website... Oxygen Sensor Part No. Location Note Photo Oxygen Sensor 24656 Upstream Left n/a Oxygen Sensor 24656 Upstream Right n/a Oxygen Sensor 24566 Downstream n/a It states only 3 sensors, not 4.....can anyone confirm?
  19. Might want to call your dealer & ask......I'd be interested to know as well.
  20. The WIX is a high quality paper filter.....not 'high flow'.....I'd compare the price of this to the OE filter. I'm bummed that the Amsoil air filter is not offered for our models (especially the ES, because the Camry would use the same one), but I will stay away from K & N (and others like it) because I find the re-oiling is a pain. Did you contact Amsoil to see if they have any plans to bring this filter to market? I don't know of any other 'high flow' filters out there that can just be vacuumed & re-installed. If anyone else does, please let us know. :)
  21. What year is your ES?
  22. You run your tires lower than what it says on the door jamb/owners manual? And never run your tires near the max PSI it says on the sidewall (which I agree are different depending on the tire maker)......it's just asking for problems.
