  2. Happy Birthday!!! B)
  3. Thanks Steve....I am very pleased how they look too......it took a while, but I finally got the car the way I want it now. :)
  4. Welcome speed (the title of your thread says you have a 97 ES....but in the actual thread you say it's a 98? ) I agree that if you are planning to keep your ES for a while that it's money well spent to get the timing belt & water pump changed....considering your pretty much at replacement mileage now. Does this tranny issue happen only when the car is cold (and warming up) or does it happen when the car is also at the normal operating temperature? What kind of tranny fluid did you use?
  5. Welcome to LOC jaeteriusD :) Where about's in Ontario are you? If properly maintained, you can expect 500,000+ Km's on the ES.....no problem. Do you have the owners manual for the car? You will be much better informed if you have one.....if you don't there are many sources to get one......e-bay, Lexus Canada etc. I assume the brake fluid level is fine?
  6. Let's start with the basics... 1) What is your current tire pressure set at? Make sure all tires are between 32 - 34 PSI. Next I would check to see if your air filter is clean or needs to be replaced. I don't think at your current mileage you need your iridium spark plugs changed just yet. Also the PCV valve is a very in-expensive part to buy & install so that won't hurt anything if that's changed. 2) You mention the noise is from the passenger side....but you don't say if it's at the front or back. Around the 60k mark, I needed to replace the rear suspension bushings on my 01 ES as it was making noises the way you describe....over bumps, uneven roads etc. 3) You need a 1 litre bottle of brake fluid....and you will have quite a bit left over after the brake fluid flush. ATE is excellent stuff.....although I have used the 'Super Blue' or 'Smurf blood' stuff personally. Your choice of brake parts is also decent. :)
  7. I've been told to stick with OE blades or refills as well. The only other blade that I have liked very much have been the Bosch ICON blades......lasted quite a while with excellent performance.
  8. Here is a good used car review on the 98-05 GS... http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/cc/98-05lexus_gs.htm Try & stay away from the first year issue if possible. Good luck.
  9. Other than Car's, I'd have to say Sports (Baseball & Golf mainly), the wife & I love movies, TV shows (24, Criminal Minds, all the CSI's, Hell's Kitchen to name a few) & love to cook. But for a little over a year now.....it's been all about our Son. :D :)
  10. lol guy's
  11. Phase Two: Completed I plan to take some better pics soon (I was visiting my parents in Toronto over the weekend & borrowed my Dad's camera)...but here are some quick shots I thought I would share (pics don't do it justice actually).....I'm quite pleased how the new wheels look.....and the new tires are awesome! B)
  12. Keep us posted.....hopefully the repairs aren't too expensive.
  13. omg dc......iced tea all over my keyboard here! (timing!) Mike, I appreciate the info. :)
  14. Yeah, who? :P j/k.....welcome back. ;)
  15. Nice looking ride! B)
  16. Wow! Thanks for the info RX....I will definately look into your suggestions. To answer your question earlier in your reply, this is the best I was able to find on the amount of precipitation & average temps we get in these parts...(precip is measured in mm's & temps in Celsius). Thanks again! http://www.st-thomasedc.on.ca/index.php?page_id=686
  17. Just curious what folks use to care for their lawns? I've been given advice from family to not go crazy with the fertilizer/chemicals etc & just keep my lawn mower on mulch (let the grass be it's own natural fertilizer etc), water & cut frequently which I have been doing.....our lawn looks decent enough, with very few weeds & dandilions....which I will take care of. My next door neighbour has gone absolutely nuts & is putting no less than 4 different types of fertilizer on, weed chemicals out the wazoo had a landcsaping company bring this giant roller to flatten things out & is getting the lawn aerated. Mind you his grass looks fantastic, but he's also spending a fortune getting it like that. I'm looking at doing a few low cost & low maintenance things (keep it simple) to improve the appearance.....our home was brand new last summer & looking for some suggestions. I'm trying my best to avoid dangerous chemicals because of our year old Son. I appreciate any assistance. B)
  18. Using regular here too.....no issues & fantastic gas mileage.
  19. I'm not sure what you mean jermeal?
