  1. Get either Denso long life Iridium's, part # SK20R11 OR NGK long life Iridium's, part # IFR6T-11. Those are both OE replacements & gap is .044"
  2. Congrats on your purchase Skip! Post some pics of your new LS when you get a chance.
  3. Hey David... You mentioned that you had a problem fitting on the front wheels you bought off me (17's) because of the larger aftermarket front brake set you purchased......maybe going back to a smaller set & the problem is solved & sell your front brake kit....or give us the exact size of your brake kit you have now......that might be alot easier in the long run. Those wheels I sold you were 'plug & play' with the OE brake set up for your LS (including the offset)......the fact that the 18's you have still don't fit tells me it's the aftermarket brakes.
  4. Welcome Anthony! B) Congrats on your 'new' ES. The wind noise around the frameless windows can be an occasional issue, but not major. The only other major concern is the possibility of engine gelling (do a search in this forum & you will find much more info).....however, the good news is you said you know the previous owner & that they had the car regularly serviced at the dealership. Consider switching to synthetic oil is my best suggestion for that engine & make sure oil changes are done on time, everytime. B)
  5. Glad we were of help. :)
  6. Try a google search using 'Lexus ES300 eyebrows' ;) Here is one example below... http://www.tunedauto.com/product.php?productid=65234
  7. - Hold down the 'disp' button on the steering wheel for a few seconds to reset (you have to change to the other screens & do the same). - I'm in Canada....so my range after fill up says 515 - 525 km's usually (320 - 325 miles) which is still not correct. - One is 'instant' MPG & the other is 'overall' MPG since you last reset it. Take some time & read through the owners manual cover to cover.....you would be suprised what's in there (have you found the feature that you can open all windows & the sunroof without even getting in the car yet?) ;)
  8. Try your local Lexus dealer parts department.......it's not that expensive for the paint pen. ;)
  9. Anything mentioned in the owners manual?
  10. For those that are considering switching to synthetic regardless of mileage......if you do not currently have any oil leaks you are safe to make the switch.....if you do.....have the leak(s) fixed and then you can switch. I'm a regular Amsoil user (oil, tranny, diff, & synthetic oil filters) & swear by the stuff personally. However there are lot's of excellent synthetics out there to choose from. B)
  11. It's possible.....are you getting any type of 'beep' sound when trying to set the memory function or no sound at all?
  12. Welcome carbuff, I'll try to be of help for your first two concerns... 1) I would try a couple of tanks of premium in your 2000 ES.....it sounds like your getting engine knock because of lower octane fuel......I had to use premium in my previous 2001 ES or I got the same problem. 2) Check your owners manual....If memory serves there is a rotary knob under the drivers side area of the dash that you can control the volume of the chime. Not 100% sure about the third one....but double check that no actual bulb is burned out & if all check's out ok....I suspect that the contacts are dirty and just need to be cleaned.
  13. Ron, Please turn off your CAPS when posting....it's considered shouting. Sorry to hear about your misfortune with your GS......I personally have not heard of not being able to do a proper wheel alignment on the GS (although I have heard that the GS model can be hard on tires)...but I am sure others here will offer assistance. Good luck.
  14. Someone will probably chime in regarding the GS wheels.....I put a brand new set of 2008 ES 350 17" on my 05 ES (I know of several folks who have done this on their earlier ES models & it looks very sharp)....link below & pics at the bottom of the first page. B) http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=46631&st=0
  15. No worries....moved to the wheel/tire section.
  16. Welcome bbqguy! I have the same discrepancy on my 2005 ES 330 and you are correct....the computer is wrong & it does not seem to correct itself even on a long highway drive (even after resetting it). I usually leave the computer on the 'instant' fuel economy mode & flip back & forth to overall average fuel economy (it's not one for city & one for highway). I too use regular fuel only now in the car (Sunoco or Shell) & easily get 400+ miles per tank....we do not require premium.
  17. Agreed ^ Goodyear Triple Tred's....215 55 17 H speed rated on my 05 ES & love em.
  18. You can have the tires shipped to say a UPS store on the U.S. side of the border & bring them over. But if you hvae them delivered into Canada.....you will be dinged with those fee's. Another possibility is www.tiretrends.com They are based in BC. Good luck.
  19. Steve, How do you like those Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires? Sweet looking ride btw.....got any other pics?
  20. Ask when the last time a full 'major' tune up (spark plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, PCV Valve) on the car was performed...not just the spark plugs.....this will save you money in the long run.
  21. Agreed.....if there was some sort of 'magical' device out there.....trust me the automakers would have them in their vehicles today as they are the ones that spend billions designing & engineering the products. There are many ways one can improve your own fuel economy by slightly changing your driving habits & making sure the vehicle is maintained as per the owners manual. Try a few things & practice it for a few tank full's......see if you notice an improvement. Many website's offer these tips and these suggestions actually work. ;) Here are just a couple of examples... http://www.jdpower.com/autos/articles/Improving-Fuel-Economy http://www.fueleconomy.gov/!Removed!/drive.shtml
  22. A few of the Japanese's automakers will introduce diesel to the NA market starting next year including Subaru, Nissan & Honda......If Subaru puts their diesel into the new Forester......I think that just we would have to add that to our 'short list' when we replace the wife's car. B) I'd also like to drive the 2009 VW Jetta Wagon this fall with their new clean diesel.......I don't think I'll drop my hard earned cash on a VW product however because of their poor reliability history in recent years......but want to feel how these things drive as I love the torque & fuel economy ratings of diesels. B)
  23. M1 75W 90 is good stuff! You should be fine.....next time around though, pick up a couple of gaskets. ;)
