  1. But, when you think about it, why does it not happen to everyone with a GX??? I talked to someone in my city, so same gas, and she does not have that problem. And then I talk to others here with GX's that do. So..... I would think we have a case if some do and some don't. If some don't, then give me a different GX that doesn't. Why are there GX's in the same city that don't smell!? I will keep taking my vehicle back in until they make mine like the other GX's that don't smell.
  2. I went through that BBB arbitration ordeal. You have to go through them I guess before you can proceed with the Lemon Law. I say go for it. You just meet a a hotel in your city at a table with 3 arbitrators and a Lexus rep. You state your problems and they state theirs. Everyone leaves and they notify you of their decision. You then send back to their form stating if you accept or do not accept their decision. They denied mine so now I can start the Lemon Law proceedings. But arbitration was not bad. Don't get emotional. Just state the facts. I think their mind is made up with or without the emotion. If you look at your lemon law info book from Lexus, They first give you the number for their customer service. That was so nice of them! Then they are glad to give you the number to arbitration (which is NCDS) in their nice little book. BUT, do you think they would give you any information to how to proceed with the Lemon Law?!???? No! It does not look like they want us to proceed further. I think they know we will not win arbitration so they are glad to give us that number. When I called back the arbitration office they would not give me ANY information for the Lemon Law. First I called customer service and they told me that I could get all of that info from NCDS and then NCDS told me I could get it from Lexus. Neither would give it to me. But all the information is on the internet under Lemon Law. I know someone who just had their vehicle bought back for my same problems. I am going to proceed with the Lemon Law. Good Luck to you!
  3. I agree, if it weren't for all of the problems, it would be a great vehicle. The problems just need to be fixed is the bottom line. I am sure others also agree about the positive aspects of the vehicle. But we are just ill about paying this kind of money for so many problems. I owned a Lincoln Navigator prior to this and never had a problem. I had a front light burn out in the first about 9,000 miles. I could not believe it. I had never had a light burn out in any other vehicle that I owned for years. I stopped another GX owner and asked her and she also hac 2 lights burn out within the first year. That is just to much of a coincidence! And she also had the same ac problem. Also a coincidence??? What is scary is the money we may have to put into this vehicle once the warranty is up. If there are this many problems now, what will it be like later. Aghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
  4. I hope you get this reply. I was on the lemon law site and I saw something about a car that has been repurchased HAS to keep a sticker on it with that information on it. Check it out. I know of a car that was repurchased last week. I will be anxious to see what happens with that. I wonder if we can follow up with it somehow. Can you look it up somehow by vin number? Isn't the vin registered with the department of motor vehicle when a vehicle is registered? I would definately check it out! Repurchases must be disclosed!!!!!
  5. I just went thru the BBB ordeal myself on my ac not working when car in idle. I am probably going to need to go through it again too. Next, I will try the lemon law. I am wondering if those BBB people are in some way affiliated with Lexus. Is it not interesting that when you look in your leather binder from Lexus they give you a little phamplet titled the Owner's Manual Supplement Lemon Law Information that only directs you to their customer satisfaction department and then to arbitration. (BBB?) That arbitration is actually NCDS. They say you need to go through them first before you can try for the lemon law. But then it is interesting that the book gives you no information about the lemon law or who to call for that. And when I called that arbitration number after I was denied, they say they have no information about starting the lemon law process and that the manufacturer would probably not give me any information either. So, I feel like they give us this book get us to go through their dept. and arbitration first. Not to actually get us to the lemon law if needed. That book seems to be for their benefit only. Check it out and see what you think. I was denied in arbitration and now need to start the lemon law process. I called an attorney and they will let me know if they can take the case. It looks like their is no fee to the consumer for this service. Check out the lemon law web site, which may be helpful. Now that I went through the heck of arbitration, I don't care how much I go through. I am numb anyway from what I have went through with this vehicle. I just feel so robbed of 56,000 +!!!!!!! Good Luck!!! Your not alone! I stopped 2 other GX owners who are just as unhappy. Hopefully, we have some recourse!!! Email me at mnmmaniac@aol.com if you have any questions! (Can we do that on this site? Give our email address out?)
  6. If you have any problems with your service advisor, I would suggest you put a stop to it right away by calling the customer service number. I know someone else who had a complaint against her advisor and put it in writing to corporate and the service office seemed to be very bothered by it so may have gotten in some type of trouble for it. Corporate does not like to hear about bad service people. I should have that number memorized by now.
  7. Thanks StevieJ! How do I get that information to see if they found a fix for the fume problem?
  8. I just spoke with another GX owner who has what sounds like the same problem. She is also AGAIN taking her vehicle back in. I have my own multiple problems with my GX but not this one. Im feel for you cuz I know how you feel. When your service advisor has your phone number memorized, you know you have been their too much! (But for a 56,000 + vehicle???) By the way, did you ever have to sit in your car in the heat of summer? You might want to check it out BEFORE you get stuck in traffic in the heat of summer.
  9. I know how you feel!! I have been in for service 4 or 5 times myself for service on my air conditioning. And then there was the problem with the drive shaft at approx. 4-5 months old. And then the light burning out about then. And then the strong fumes. I am anxious to hear if you have the same fumes, the sulfa, rotten egg smelling fumes upon acceleration. Talking to another GX owner, she had the same problems with her vehicle. What is going on!!! It is the worst feeling to pay this amount of money for these problems. I owned a Lincoln Navigator before this and no problems at all. Why in the world did I switch!!!!!!!! I feel for you!!!!
  10. Is anyone else experiencing ac blowing warm air when vehicle in idle. This problems only occurs when in idle, not when driving. I stopped another GX owner and they also had the same problem. This is a real problem when stopped in traffic in the heat of summer. Also, how about the front light burning out? We only had the vehicle about 4 months and the light burned out. Again, asked another GX owner and she had 2 lights burn out right away also! I addressed this with Lexus Western Division and they admit to the problem that the fan does not blow enough air across to cool properly but also stated that they will NOT notify all the GX owners of this so it won't become a problem until people get stuck in traffic in the heat of summer. Has anyone had a second fan put in and if did, does it work properly. I need to know BEFORE summer comes again so I am not stuck in a hot car again. If anyone has any input to this I would greatly appreciate it. I spent too much money on this vehicle to have poor air in the summer and a light burning out after only about 4 months. And from what I see, it is not just my vehicle. And what about the fumes? Anyone else with this? If so, did it get fixed??? I was told by Lexus try Chevron gas and don't accelerate too fast! Im sorry, but again, I don't want to pay this much for a vehicle to get an answer that I should use Cheveron gas. Again, thanks for any help! From, A frustrated Lexus owner.
