  1. I don't know. Points of interest function?
  2. Yes. By using the steering wheel display button, you can see a Eco off display on dash when it's turned off. Directions are in the manual somewhere.Try holding the display button down when you get to the eco window display. It's done somehow with that button.I don't remember how and don't want to screw with it. :)
  3. I'd never buy a loaner car. Many people abuse loaners.
  4. I have a dealer appt Monday just for the software update.I told my service advisor I don't any pedal shaving and carpet padding thinning. My all weather mats are hooked to the floor retainers and there's no need for extra action. The software update is enough. He said ok.
  5. On and off.I believe it comes on when you're driving in a gas saving way. I found the green light to be quite distracting and annoying.
  6. Not correct.I did it. It's done somehow with the display button on the wheel. If I remember correctly, you must hold in the display button when you get to the eco display on the screen but it definitely can be shut off without dealer imput somehow.
  7. I hated that green econo light too. :D I forgot exactly how I did it months ago but it's done on the steering wheel display button somehow when you get to the econo display in the window. Hopefully someone will reply.
  8. Can drivers opt out from having their accelerator pedals reshaped and the floor reshaped as a consequence of this recall? Seems to me this issue only happens to very irresponsible and careless drivers who would stack up unsecured mats thus resulting in the stuck pedal scenario. I'd rather not have my brand new car have open-heart surgery to fix this when it isn't necessary if I can help it. I just ordered the new design all weather mats and will not get the pedal recall performed. Like you said, there's no need if the mats are attached to the floor retention hooks.
  9. Well, all I can say is I've read and heard the voice recognition is better in the '10's.My '09 RX doesn't have NAV so I don't know how true that is. :)
  10. The '10s are said to have a new improved hard drive base system.Still stinks without on the go imput capability, though.
  11. You have set the NAV at top or near top volume level. Unlike other systems, the unit does not lower radio volume. That and not being able to imput on the fly really stinks.
  12. The new design rubber mats are available at Sewell but fronts only.. I just ordered a set. http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/parts_detail.asp?id=204046
  13. Use 2-3 words. I use three words and it works great. Example:Call Cindy Mobile.
  14. So much for the 'all-weather' tag. I was anxiously awaiting the release of the all weather mats. How much are these 'all weatherless' all weather mats?
  15. A Lexus part dept guy told me the brake pads in the '10 are different because of the complaints of owners of '07-'09's having brake noise. The '10 pads seem to be high friction because they produce a bit more dust than the older pads.
  16. My '09 RX 350 is going to the dealer for this recall on Tuesday. Odd the ES only has issues with the '07 and '08 models and not the '09's..
  17. I like the look but no protection. Most new cars and suvs don't have a side molding. I believe it's probably for manufacturers to save a few bucks. :D
  18. Thats why I would lease one. No credibility lost at all,Steve. Yeah, leasing probably would be the only way to go.
  19. How much does Toyota charge for it per qt.? I read a year or so ago the WS is $42 a gallon.
  20. True! I'm a Amsoil fluids guy but wouldn't use anything but Toyota WS in the trans. WS is super expensive too.
  21. Excellent write up. The Genesis is a nice car,no doubt. I just can't see me plunking down $40K+ for a Hyundai.Maybe in the future but certainly not now. The resale value of Hyundai's have been awful.Let's see how the Genesis does. I live in the NYC metro area and have seen maybe 3 Genesis' on the road.I don't think they're selling well. I like the Genesis interior except for the dash look. Hyundai annouced that the Genesis line will have it's own showrooms in the near future which should help sales. Hyundai is where Toyota was in the early 80's.They'll be a big player in 5 years or so. The Lincoln is a nice car also but for $55K,there's mnay other cars I would choose. The ES 350 is a bland car. It's not perfect. The stock audio system isn't great and should be better but the car rides great, comfortable, peppy and reliable.I do like the '10 refresh enough to cause me to buy one.
  22. No doubt about that. Another Pontiac Aztec type vehicle. Many must agree.I've only seem a few on the road and I'm in the NYC metro area.
  23. I usually do my own oil changes because I like using synthetic oil.I change my filters too.Lexus charges a crazy amount for a air filter and/or cabin filter change both part and labor. Both so simple to do and you save on the filters too whether you stay with Toyota filters or not. You can bring the car in to Lexus service and specify just what you want them to do and they'll do it. In your case a normal oil change/tire rotation plus replace the brake fluid and remote battery and the general take a peek inspecting the car.
  24. 90%, huh? Really? I think it is extremely rare for a car owner to tell a car dealer to not perform a required maintenance operation while a car is under warranty. I only use a dealer only for warranty work. $575+ for a 30K service in my area is ridiculous. I use a very good shop and keep records of work done. You also can tell a dealer service advisor you do not want certain things done. All you have to do is have records that those items were done at the proper interval to keep your warranty intact. An example of the typical dealer service ripoff. You're waiting in the waiting area and the service advisor comes to you with a dirty cabin filter and tells you it needs to be replaced. How much?$45 for the filter and $40 labor. That's when you say but how much is the labor to put the old one back?He says no charge. Then put a new one in for the $45 and don't charge me $40 labor.:P
