  1. So, on Thursday night I removed the CD changer out of the trunk. Took the unit back to my apt, spend bout 2 hrs taking it apart than putting it back together. Installed it again on Friday and still did not work. Decided to go to the local Best Buy and bought a in dash CD player/ radio unit. These guys at Best Buy was simply amazing. They knew everything that ought to be done for a successful installation. After some dough (over $300 - radio and service) and time 2-3 hrs (very labor intensive job) the final result is that I'm able to listen to content out of my car! Should of done this a month ago.
  2. The trolling never stops on a product of lies and will be on TV soon for $19.95. They cannot pay for a real website and the "ALIEN LIQUID RESEARCH" really brings in the people!! :chairshot::wacko: Bought a Lens Restoration Kit at Pep Boys for $13. Comes w/ 4 sand papers, with different granularities (1000, 1500, 2000, 2500), cloth and plastic restoration solvent. Since the damage to my low beam and fog light lens weren't terrible, I only used to 2 highest grades, 2000 and 2500. Sanded , cleaned then dried the lens. Applied the solvent, with a lot of elbow grease. Now they look beautiful! On top of that, changed out the bulbs to Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA. They look fabulous. Now to the busted cd changer....lol I luv this forum! Howat
  3. I situation w/ the stupid cd changer is exactly as u described. Clicking, light (eject button flickering), etc., whenever I tried to close the cap to the changer. So now, I just leave it open. But my problem now is that the magazine is stuck. I can't budge it. What can I do to take it out and start cleaning the changer, magazine, roller, as recommended by you? thx Howat
  4. Loco ese, I'm not planning on selling the existing cd changer. I don't think its broken, but the there's something wrong with the mechanism when I close the cd player's cap... it just clicks. Besides, I think its such a hassle to go back to the trunk to change out CDs i'm lazy. But, if I decide to rip it out, I'll let you know. I'm not sure of number of CDs in the changer...whatever the stock is. BTW, how much do you think it'll cost if I change out the system to a front based cd changer? Would the labor rate be extraordinary?
  5. I'm thinking about getting Pittman's Original One Step ALR. Can anyone verify this product? Has this worked for some and not for others? Any feedbacks is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  6. Hi, Went home and checked the functionality of the GE cassette adapter I bought. I tested it, just using my fingers to turn, and found out both wheels are 'tied' together and must turn simultaneously. Additionally, the wheels only turn in one direction. So, what do I do now? Are 1998 cassette players different? Or should I look for an adapter that rotates 'untied' and in both directions? thx
  7. Grazis! you guys are the best and I luv this user community. oh, i luv my 98-sc300
  8. I recent spend $15 on a cassette adapter to play music on my MP3 player, since my cd changer no longer works, and it absolutely does not work. The cassette adapter would go into the slot, however 20 seconds later it would spit it back out. So..save your money and find some other way to play your content in the car's cabin. If someone had posted this advise earlier, I'd still have my $15 in my pocket...lol. Thanks for reading and this forum is wonderful!
  9. This works. I followed the directions as stated and it really does work. I had to remove multiple panels within the trunk. The panel attached to the trunk lid. The panel over the spare tire. The panel over the gas tank. From there, one should be able to trace the wires, green and black (both with white trim) from the spoiler light, through the trunk lid and into the bundle of wires directly next to the gas tank. In my stance, the green wire was noticeably severed out of the bundle. However, the black wire was still in place. Thus, I had to find some copper wire and splice then rejoin. Best of luck!
